What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Car needs major paint work but it looks good for a daily.

What kind of foam cannon is your expensive one? What made you go with a 3/8 hose? Do you like it? Or is it heavy?
 
So it's been almost a week since I applied Gyeon Q2 Wax and washed it everyday since and I've gotta tell you, as you all know, the glow from caranuba....🤌(as well as other ingredients)

The MTM Hydro pf22.2 or whatever it is. I watched a review where a guy used the stock hose, a 1/4 and a 3/8. The 1/4 was better than the stock hose for pressure and GPM. The 3/8 gave a little more pressure and a little more flow over the 1/4.
It’s heavier. That’s for sure. I’m on the fence about it still.

50/50 mix in the foam cannon might be a good start. you can do something like shown below.

Actually, I forgot the recommended PIR for v2 of Touchless is half of v1 so make that about a 1/4 soap, not 50/50.

If you're doing the PIR test, you can record the volumes in whatever you want. You'd just need to convert them into the same units. You could even measure the bucket by weight and convert to volume. If you want to post numbers, I can figure it out.

The highest PIR is 2% but on Forensic Detailing John found that there isn’t much difference between 1% and 2%. For a rule of thumb, if you don’t want to go crazy taking bucket measurements it’s about 7.5 oz for 2% PIR and half that for 1%. This is a general rule and should get great results, regardless of the foam cannon and pressure washer setup.

Ok, I was figuring for 2% so it looks like I wasn't far off.

Apparently I've been doing it wrong because I've been using 3-4 oz for quite some time now

I mean the results are there but maybe because my car doesn't get too dirty and the coating is "very" boosted

Whether it's the 1 gallon in my IK Foam Pro 12 or my Griot's Garage foam gun, it's 3-4 ounces, not doubting you here because you've done the math, I haven't but have just "winged it"

Well 7.5 / 2 is 3.75 so winging it has been pretty good for you

foam cannon concentration would be higher than a foaming sprayer. you don't have to work out the PIR for a foaming sprayer, you just mix it up to that percentage since it isn't getting diluted by additional water like a pressure washer foam cannon.

So that would be what, 20 ml on 1 liter for 2% and 10 ml for 1% on a foam sprayer
 
I usually go with 3-4 oz to 1 gallon of distilled in the IK Foam Pro 12, kinda hung up on the 3-4 oz thing

2.56 oz in the Foam Pro 12 for 2% PIR if you want to be exact but 4 oz/gallon is a bit overkill. It’s perfect in a foam gun for a well maintained car though.
 
I thought I'd try out my new tyre dressing, Bowden's Sweet Rubber. I wanted to give it the best chance, so I cleaned the tyres on the Qashqai with TWHS Hyper Foam, the wheels as well while I was down there. The sidewalls looked clean so I went straight to application, sprayed onto a foam applicator, not directly onto the tyre, and wiped on, waited 5 minutes, and wiped off any excess. I didn't want it super shiny, so 1 coating it was.

I decided to do the FJ as well, slightly different process, as the wheels are only recently painted, I cleaned them with a very dilute Reset first, then the tyres with TWHS Hyper Foam, then used some 303 Touchless in the wheels, to give them some protection, then dressed the tyres.
