With this cleaning lotion is it necessary to use Pinnacle or Wolfgang Wax? Or can I use a different brand wax?

Racersky, I used PPCL and toped it off with Fuzion, which is a Wolfgang product. As far as I know, you can use any wax.

Oh alright....cause I just like how Poorboy Red Natty Paste Wax makes my car paint pop and if this lotion brings depth and gloss than I'm all in for it to try.

Be sure to prep to the max before using PPCL. Haven't used Natty Red, but I'm sure you will be pleased with the results. Post some pictures when your done.

I have a test car I'm gonna try the lotion on once the product comes in.

I'm excited!! I just ordered pinnacle paint cleaner and a 32oz red, and I was kinda "iffy" about, but after reading all these post I think it might be a good combo... My car is white, souveran really looks good on it, but I hear it really gives dark cars justice.

The Pinnacle Paintwork cleansing lotion is great for times when polishing isnt needed or perhaps you dont want to use machine. It also is a great prepping product. Your gonna love it, just remember more is not better here either.

In a previous thread it indicated that using a prewax cleaner can compromise lsp durability. Can someone elaborate under what conditions this happens?

I have used PCL in 2 scenarios:

1) correct with m205, use PCL, WDGPS
2) correct with m205, ipa wipedown, PCL, WDGPS

Both scenarios seemed to compromise lsp durability. Shouldn't the PCL or any prewax cleaner remove any left over polishing oils and provide a bare surface?

Some would argue that it's possible for the lubricating agents/oils in "ANY" machine or hand applied compound, polish, or paint cleaner will hinder the bonding of any wax or paint sealant applied.

Unless the manufacture recommends chemically stripping the paint in order for their protection ingredients to stick to the paint I wouldn't worry about it... keep in mind, online enthusiasts tend and trend to take things that are very simple and overcomplicate them, that's not a bad thing it's just reality. Everyone can decide for themselves how many steps they want to perform to wash and wax their car.

To paraphrase my forum friend Mosca...

"I've never walked out into a garage only to find out that overnight the wax or paint sealant slipped off the car's paint and piled up on the floor surrounding the car because it didn't bond or stick to the paint because the person didn't first chemically strip the paint."

:)

Mike,

Welcome back from Vegas and congrats on the In the Garage project.

I plan to reseal my car in the next couple of weeks with DGPS for the winter. Ron's comments about PPCL caught my interest and I respect his opinions and observations.

Is the Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion interchangeable with the Wolfgang paintwork enhancer or Four Star Paint Cleaner when using DGPS and Fuzion? I happen to own the Four Star. I figure that they should all do about the same thing but in some ways PPCL also sounds a little like an old school finishing glaze in some ways as it amps the gloss.
