Montana Boars Hair trashed my finish!!

No prob just remember what i said you gotta fill the bucket up wit water first than put the soap in, stir it around with your hand and do a quick hard water jet and the suds appear like crazy

I have detailed many cars including my own and even jet black cars. I have never scratch a car with this brush. remeber work top to bottom and a section at a time. Make sure to go over the paint the way air moves over the paint. Use the 2 bucket method and you will be fine

Foamed the car, foamed the brush, a light cleaning, rinse, move to the next section. All the way around....

I was planning on buying one of these brushes. I was wondering: is there is so much air in foam that just foaming the brush and rubbing it on the paint is basically using an almost dry brush.

I really hope he used atleast one bucket and not just a foamgun if he didnt then thats his problem!

I think you are right. You should use a bucket with shampoo. lots of suds. My plan (when I get one) is to soak it 30 min before use. Also will use DP Rinseless W&G in the soapy water for added slickness and protection.

Taking Buckskincolt's idea one step further: I'm thinking it couldn't hurt to throw in a capful or so of ONR into your wash bucket as well, to pump up the lubricity.

It scares me to use a brush to wash a car...ask Scott (killrwheels), he wouldn't even use Natural Sea Sponge...

What does Scott (Killrwheels) use for a wash media?
What do you use?

I have been using the GS-50 Natural Sheepskin Washmitt. Anyone have thoughts to share about the GS-50 Natural Sheepskin Washmitt?

I like it very much, it is very SOFT!! I have read postings that it doesn't seem to last very long, but if it works GREAT and does not scratch or leave swirls---Who cares--- I'll buy a new one as needed!!! I have been using mine now for almost three months (washing my car every two weeks) and it is still in good shape. One key that Dewayne shared with me is to rinse it well with cool water, mildly squeeze out the excess water (Don't wring it out to aggressively, or it will wear out quicker), and hang it out to dry then turn it inside out and let it finish drying.

As long as we're on the topic of the BHB: what's this?

Is there some kind of rig that has a supply line (that you screw into the end of the telescopic handle) that will pump a flow of sudsy water through to the brush's bristles?

^^ You are correct Sir ^^

OK, so a hose can be hooked up through the base of the telescopic handle? How do you infuse the car wash solution into the hose line?
Just pumping water alone through the brush seems less than optimal. I would think you'd want to pump water + car wash concentrate (or some kind of liquid lubricant) through the bristles rather than just water alone.

Sounds like a good idea. I am going to be brave(stupid?) and try a straight rinseless product: save water and save my back. Hope it works.

I couldn't wait. I just noticed a 15% Autogeek discount and ordered the 10" Montana brush with the telescoping handle. Also got a microfiber chamois and microfiber mitt.

I also just got swirls and deep scratches in my budget.

Is a regular Paint-Roller Extension-Handle the same thing as what AG sells for a Boar-Hair Brush-Handle?

Can any threaded Broom-Handle work ?

If I got one of these Boar-Hair Brushes, I shudder at the thought of paying for a Handle to be shipped across North America, when I can get one from my local Home Depot !

I do not know to be honest, if I had a painters handle I would try it, but if I had to guess I would say it would work. I can't imagine the thread would be that different.

ONR And DP Rinseless Wash and Gloss are pretty much the same thing.

Before and after sun pictures will be needed.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Guess if you put them in you get more practice taking them out.

Broom handles tend to be weak...try the HD painters roller handle I'd bet it will fit.

the handle from the wash brush i bought at wally world fits my boars head brush. the handle has a place to put soap close to the base of the handle. i havent tried to use it like that yet.

This is the Wash Soap I've been using. I think it's crap.

Around these parts, there isn't anything better to buy.

It does say that it's a Cold Water formula, but it sure doesn't give me the Foaming action that I see in the Florida Pictures.

Question: Do you guys at AG have a Water Softener too ?

Needless to say, I have some Poor Boys & DP Wash Soap on my Cart.
