Just got back from an off-site project and read all the way through this thread and want to add a couple of comments...
First the GG ROP does have more power from a practical hands-on point of view than the XP but side-by-side I don't think anyone would detail a car from start to finish faster, that's the big picture.
Both have more power and ability to keep pads rotating under pressure and after your pads become wet and that's the key important factor when trying to remove swirls.

If you have a brand new car then it should have a GREAT finish to start with but all to often even brand new cars will have either light wear-n-tear from being on a car lot of worse, DISO that is the Dealer Installed Swirl Option.
Regardless, stepping up to a DA Polisher will enable you to restore and maintain a show car finish on your new car and pretty much any car you own as these types of tools work better and faster at correction work and even applying waxes and paint sealant versus working by hand. A good investment even for someone that only takes care of their own car or cars.
And thanks for joining our forum and asking questions, we all started at the same place and that's knowing nothing and one of the goals of this forum is to help others to be successful in their garage.
