I do not like the greasy, high gloss look. A little sheen is preferred. Any recommendations?

Optimum Opti-Bond is a great choice when you want a low gloss, new look.

Thanks guys.

Out of curiosity, is the optimum tire shine spray have a higher gloss compared to the opti-bond?

No, none of the Optimum dressings are glossy. However, Opti-Bond lasts the longest.

I recommend Meguiars High endurance tire gel. I got the higher shine version but they do make a lower gloss I believe. Actually, the high shine that I used isnt as shiny as those cheap silicone types. I found myself slopping on a bunch to bring up the shine so you may like it. I would definitely call it more of a sheen than a wet look. I've applied only once since my last detail nearly a month ago, and I kid you not, the tires still sheen. They look great! I've washed the car twice since then and that includes a full degrease cleaning of the wheels and the gel has survived. I'm really impressed, and best of all, its available OTC. Get some DP wheel glaze for your wheels and your shoes will look good for a while.

Surf City Garage Beyond Black is the best I have found.

I dont use many tire gels, but I have tried some otc tire foams. And they are too shiny, so I spray the foam on the tire and let the product dwell for 5-10 minutes, then I take a clean microfiber rag and wipe the tire, it reduces the shine and helps with tire sling. Alot of customers hate the high gloss look, so this method serves its purpose. Plus these products are cheap and available in most stores.

I will also put in a good work for Optimum Opti-Bond as you can apply a nice layer of it and buff for a really dark matte look. If you are interested in a cheap over the counter product, Black Magic Matte tire finish is very easy to use and leaves a matte finish.

:iagree: This method works quite well.

I also like All Season Dressing from the Meguiar's detailer line. Not only is it low gloss, but it is extremely durable, too.

I use Adams VRT works great makes the tires look like new with out the high gloss.

303 Protectant or Einszett Vinyl/Rubber Care ...

Isn´t it Hyper Dressing 2:1 for Medium Gloss? What do you think of Hyper Dressing 4:1 Natural Finish? Thanks in advance! :xyxthumbs:

The stain finish 3:1 did not do much for my tires. I then tried 1:1 high gloss and foudn it just a touch mroe gloss then I like... I think sully's has hit the nail on th ehead with 2:1 and am goign to mix up tha ton my next bottle.

Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel is what you want :)
Been using OBTG for over a year and very pleased with the looks. Friend of mine kept insisting that Zaino Z16 will look better. Well against my better judgement I picked up a bottle and this is my 3rd application to give it a fair shake and I'm going back to OBTG for good. Oh, and after a year of using OBTG every week, I still have 3/4 of the qt. left, so a little goes a long way.

Either of these are what I use as well. I feel 303 lasts longer but 1Z gives a more matte apperance.
I think I'm going to give 1Z a try. Plus, I can use it on my interior panels as well. :dblthumb2:
