I received the Poorboy's World Trim Restorer yesterday and couldn't wait to try it out. As you will be able to see from the before pictures the trim on my car needed some help. I washed the car and dried everything using my Blue Waffle Weave Drying Towel. I then applied the Trim Restorer to an applicator and applied it to the trim. I like the glossy look so I did buff it off; according to the directions.

Conclusion:
To start it made a very large difference in the look of my trim. I take pride in my car looking the best in the neighborhood. So I thought that washing and cleaning my trim was enough. I was wrong this stuff looks great. A little definitely goes a long way. It went on very easy and doesn't feel greasy. As far as durability goes I'll have to update this post in about a week to let you know. I may also have a Saab with a lot of black trim to try this on this week. I'll try and keep this updated.

Thanks for the review.
I'll add that product to my wish list! :)

curious how long this product will last, is it just basically a hydrating product for the plastic?

Only time will tell. I'll try and keep this updated....

Awesome, I got mine yesterday and have to wait until it worms up here CO.
I'm looking for ward to trying this stuff up.

A forum favorite indeed ... works especially well on the lower plastic trim most manufacturers add to cars now too.

Nice write up with pics I love TR it's amazing how you think your trim looks great but when you put TR on it the look changes so much and it cleans up the cars appearance tremendously. The way I look at it, it's like cleaning your car and not dressing your tires..... sure it will still look good but dressing your tires makes the car look 1000x better becasue everyone may not know how a polished car looks but they do know what tire dressings look like lol.....same concept for the trim it just cleans it up.

Again nice review :dblthumb2: just one thing you had mentioned "I like the glossy look so I did buff it off; according to the directions." For a glossy look you apply it on let it sit for longer and than do a light buff.....TR needs to be buffed off with a cotton towel not MF as well. If you do not buff those little like "patches" the left overs on the trim, you know what im talking about, they will run on the paint (if it happens to rain) so if you want it glossy just do a quick buff to wipe those extra "patches" off and your good to go Im the MAN

Any updates? How well has it held up?

I've been using Black Again and it doesn't last more than two washes or more than a single storm. :o :(

Maybe because it's not meant for smooth plastic...?

I find that scrubbing that kind of trim with APC first then applying three coats of TR works the best. Chances are that that chalky look will return if you do not re apply the TR. It is good stuff and I wouldn't be without it but I had to develope a system of using it effectively.

It seems to have held up very well. I have yet to re-apply since the review was done. (It's winter here in OHIO :() I'll do my best to get some current pics up this weekend still and even a new 50/50 to see the difference with a fresh application.

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll try that. It's only the side mirrors that have smooth plastic, but they are faded!

Sounds like a good idea. Too bad about your weather, for what its worth, it's raining here in L.A. too!

I like it. It's the best stuff I've used on my Explorer's factory running boards. They tend to want to turn grey at the ends.

I have the grey problem too on my '88 trim. Looking forward to more pix and application tips.

After seeing this thread pop up I realized I owed everyone an update on the performance of the PB TR. In my opinion the Tr had seemed to hold really well to the conditions we have been having here in ohio this winter. To me at first the trim still looked nice and dark with little fading.

Here is a 50/50 after applying the TR, letting it soak in and the buffing it off.

Overall I think the TR has held up well in the 2+ months since putting it on. If you compare these pics to the originals there is not near as much of a color difference from the prepped vs. the non-prepped. I am very happy with the product.

Nice review. I've noticed a bit longer lasting shine with this vs. others I've tried. The gloss goes down a little but I don't see nearly as much running or spotting with the PB's. coconut smell is anice touch too.

I use it and found it to be outrageously fantastic on and plastic surface of any color.
