**My version of Cleaning Nasty Upholstery**

APC, What was the ratio?

This is right up my alley. This is the kind of detailing jobs I LOVE to see. Don't get me wrong...the high end exotics are nice, but IMO are pretty easy outside of a correction.

It's the daily drivers that consume most my work. It's vehicles like this that separate the men from the boys!! Nice job my man!:dblthumb2::dblthumb2:
Thanks buddy, I know its been a while since I originally posted this, but hopefully it has helped a few guys out.

Hays. I see you are from Lawrence, any chance you are a KU fan?

Have you ever used 303 High Tech Fabric Guard to protect cloth seats?
No, not yet. I have used some that are available at janitorial supply stores with good results, its very similar to the commercial version of scotch guard which I have used too, but its pretty expensive.

Since I made this thread, I now use 303 fabric cleaner for seats, and it works very well, also I will use Folex if I have some stubborn stains. Carpet and floor mats usually get pre treated with Megs Apc.

If you don't have extremely dirty seats, and you obviously dont need an extractor, but still want to clean them, I use a product called Fiber Fresh Ultra Pro. This product is sold by a company called Service Master Clean. Basically you mix a bucket of hot water with the cleaner, and soak a rag in the solution, ring it out, and use it to wipe over the seats. Then take a dry rag to remove excess moisture and light soiling. Of course this will never work on really dirty stained fabric. But to freshen up seats, carpet and even headliners it works perfectly, dries quicker than using an extractor, and in my opinion does a better job than using foam cleaners. In fact I may try the 303 fabric cleaner with this style of cleaning, and who knows I may do a more detailed write up of this light 'dry cleaning' method.

Do you think the Mytee Lite II is worth the extra $125 over the Aztec? An extractor is in my very near future. Or if anyone has any info on either PM me please. That interior turned out fantastic and 95% of my business are daily drivers and at this point an extractor has become a necessity.

Ha! Graduate Student even.

I have a lot of memories from Hays, most of them on campus there at band camp. Oddly enough, a chick I met there lives there now.

What's your technique with the Folex and/or 303? Just dampen and work with a rag?

I think the aztec is plenty powerful for detailing and worth the price, however I am not sure if the mytee lite is worth the extra $125. I would invest in a good extractor and a vapor steamer as a 'handle anything' combo. A vapor steamer is on my wish list.

I use the 303 as a pre treat, so the seats get sprayed down, worked in with brush, then allow it to dwell. After that I use the extractor to rinse the soil and stains away. The folex can be used on really bad stains during the process. Sometimes on badly stained seats I may use the Folex as pre treating the entire surface. And I think the folex can be used as a non rinsing solution, which means you don't have to extract it. So once the seats are dry, and if any stains come back, I use the folex with a microfiber rag, and then dry it with a fan or use hair dryer to speed up drying process and prevent any stains from wicking back.

I have both the aztec and the mytee. I wish I never bought the aztec. Its far less powerful. The psi difference is crazy. Plus, the aztec takes twice as long to deliver heat.

If you want another aztec...let me know. Mine is new and id be willing to sell it. In the spring id like to get the hp60.

I always prefer my car to be cleaned by professionals. I once had a bad experience cleaning the back seat of my car, for a long time there were divorces from cleaning products because I did not have the proper professional equipment.
