Okay, so it's been quite a while since i've posted a detail by John (VR8) and myself. So here goes.

Here we have a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (Non-SS). This vehicle was actually purchased by a friend for resale. He got a great deal on it in the condition you see it in in the before pictures and decided it'd be worth his while to hire John and I to "recondition" it so that he could earn a good return on a sale. He wanted us to do a full interior/exterior detail on the vehicle and get the engine cleaned up as well. Onto the process

PROCESS and PRODUCTS:

- Wash via Meg's Gold Class Shampoo with Rastafarian mit and Natural Wool mit.
- Clayed with Meg's light claybars
- Engine detailed with Meg's Super Degreaser and APC and aggitated with several soft-bristle brushes.
- Wheels cleaned with Meg's Wheel Brightener, 2-bucket method and car wash solution.aggitated with a plethora of brushes and towels to get into all of the nooks and crannies. Tires dressed with Meg's Endurance Tire Gel
- Carpets and seats cleaned with Mytee Hot Water Extractor, PC7424 with Carpet and upholstry brushes and Meg's Carpet and Upholstry cleaner. A medium-strength degreaser mix was used as the cleaning agent in the Extractor.
- Paint correction was done using Meg's 105 on Cyan Hydro-tech pads followed by 205 on Tangerine HT pads.
- LSP was Meg's NXT 2.0 (I believe.)

Here are a couple of in-process 50/50s though they aren't very good or fully corrected. Forgive the lighting. All of the days we worked on this car were rainy and stayed that way until he sold it a few days later.

And a couple of outdoor shots though there was no sunshine for proper photos. :(

Sorry for the crappy lighting and lack of sun. :( Was a bad week that week, but the interior came out really nice. He made $2500 on top of his initial investment on the sale of the car.

Somewhat out of order, but these are worth sharing. The interior was sooo bad we decided to remove the seats before attacking with the extractor.

NASTY!!!!! You could tell THAT was a trade in. Good thing YOU GUYS got your hands on it to correct it. Your work will help that dealership sell the vehicle quickly. :props:

oh. I hope they put air into those tires. LOL

Wow! That was a nasty looking interior. Great job bringing this vehicle back to life. I hope your friend gave you a nice tip since he made $2500.00 on top of his initial investment.

He paid us fairly well for the work. No tip, but there was an issue with the passenger's side mirror. John went to polish the mirror and the second he touched it, the mirror actually fell out of the housing...he barely even touched it and the mirror fell out. We worked on the car for 2 full days and he wanted to deduct $50 from the $200 we charged him for the work...he finally realized that he'd already gotten a great deal from us (meaning a big discount) and he sold the car with the mirror missing and still got that money on top of what he paid for the car.

And thank you for the compliments guys. :D We do try hard to give the absolute best we can.

You aren't charging enough.

Great turn around!

GEWB

We know, and thanks. :D :( Wish we could increase our rates and stay busy. Hopefully this spring and summer things will change.

Great work and like someone else said definitely not enough charged. I know things are different depending what area you live but 2 days work for 2 guys AND the results you delivered.....he got away with more than a steal.
I'm in south florida where there's a "detailer" on every street corner doing work for nothing and i have always refused to lower my prices one iota if someone calls and is shopping around for the best deal.
Thankfully i am busy all the time because of the clientele i have build over the years and the referrals i keep getting.
I know we sometimes have to do what we can to make money but don't give your hard work away.Especially with such good results.

Whoa! Big turnaround! Nice job! Very nice job! :dblthumb2:

BTW, $200 is waaaaaaaaay too cheap for the work you did. :buffing:

Holy cow, nice turnaround!!!!!!!!!! :dblthumb2:

Those H-T pads seem to finish VERY well!!!!!

What made you use those pads in stead of CCS?

Wow that car was discusting inside and out.

Good job and Crazy turnover. :props:

We used CCS pads. The HT pads velcro doesn't last on either my Griot's or the Flex, so we quit using them a couple of months ago and now only use CCS pads. I'd like to try the 5.5" pads though. Never used them and would need to buy a new BP for them, but I think it'd be worth it. I'd LOVE to have some 4" pads that WEREN'T low-profile. That would be the ultimate for me.

Thanks so much for all of your compliments guys and gals. We didn't work 2 full days, but we worked 1 full day and I had to wait around for 4 hours for him to come get the vehicle. He arrived 2 hours later than he initially said he'd be there to pick it up.

I thought you said you used CCS?

GAH!! You're right! SOOOOOO sorry. Forgot this was a while ago. lol Ya got me mang. John and I both LOVED the correction ability of the HT pads while we used them and while they lasted, but the problem was they didn't last...at all. The velcro backing either separated completely after 2-3 uses or the pads would rip themselves completely apart because of the backing not covering the entire back of the pad causing the backing plate to "eat" through the entire outer ring of the pad not protected by the backing.

No worries, just wanted to clarify. :dblthumb2:

Honestly, did you notice a big difference in cutting power between the Cyan Hydro and Orange CCS?
