We now offer tinting

I doubt there really is that much competetion, there might be a lot of so-called detailers, but maybe 2-3 tops, Dave, Bella, and Angelo would be your go to guys other than that there really isn't anyone else.

You're right again Dana. Beside Todd, Angelo & myself, there's also Billy (Presidential), Gerry (Premium), Eddie Fuiza and Richie Carbone. Not anyone else is really credible. (I'd also add M. Phillips, but I don't think he's for hire).

You'd be surprised how many detailers there really are in that region. Check out some of the other detailing sites or car forums to see what I mean. Mainly pressure washers & detailers. I know of several detailers in the Tampa/St. Petersburg areas that are excellent.

Enter the hall monitor.

Hall monitor huh? I'm not the one that's already been publically banned from other detailing forum for illegally advertising my business. Unless you're allowed to create a thread about services you offer in the thread title, I say it's an advertisement unless a Moderator says otherwise.

Here's the forum rules,

Forum Rules

There's really not much in the forum rules as it pertains to marketing your detailing business or aspects of your detailing business.

We want our forum members that also detail cars for a hobby, part-time business or full-time business to be successful and some level of promotion on our forum is acceptable to our members in good standing.

What we don't want is for a person to join the forum and use it for the sole purpose of promoting their business, as in every post or almost every post is blatant advertising. We also won't and don't allow Hit-and-Run advertising or spamming. Hit & Run advertising would be where a detailer joins and makes one or two posts for the sole purpose of promoting their business and then we never see or hear from them again.

Let me look into this a little more and perhaps update the forum rules just so everyone has clear guidelines as to what's acceptable and what's unacceptable.

With clear guidelines and boundaries we can all be on the same page...

So hang tight and I'll get back to this thread tomorrow on this matter...

:)

Well the way you say that makes it sound like I've been booted from another site, which I haven't. I play by the rules just like most everyone else on here.

Didn't mean to get you hot under the collar with the hall monitor suggestion. It's just that when I was reading the thread and saw your post, it reminded me of that kid that always sat at the front of the class and would throw their hand up and say "Oh Oh Oh, teacher teacher, little Johnny was looking at my paper again."

I'm referring to the OP, not you.

There maybe a lot of detailers-i.e. wash and waxers, but there are very few that really know how to detail. So I will stick to saying there really is no competition for detailers but a lot for wash and waxers.

Dave you should know by now I am usually right all the time.:dblthumb2:

Well, in this instance you're right & wrong.

As I mentioned earlier there are several excellent detailers .. i.e. wet sanding, polishing under carriage detailing. They can be found on many of the other detailing forums since many rely on "word of mouth" advertising rather than website etc.

If you're in VA then I'm guessing you lived in the FL area that you would know? I guess your comment hit home with me just because it seems to me that it is an uninformed comment.

No worries though ......

Don't worry Shawn David may be having an off day so I wouldn't come down on him too hard just yet.

I too like the way Shade Tree has worded it.

I'm also interested in this no micro edge thing. I'd love to see some finished tints once you have finished. I think that this would be a great upsell advantage, because if someone was really impressed with the detail they just got, they will feel quite confident about your tinting services.

Maybe if you were to offer a small discount when they were purchase services over a certain value. Say, if they were to get a 3 step paint correction, then they are entitled to a small percentage (maybe 5%) off the price of tinting.

Still, I can't wait to see some finished pics!!!:props:
