OTC Degreaser

What is the best OTC degreaser? I am ready to do my engine and want to know what to use.

Jenn, I cleaned my motor today with the orange stuff from Wally World. Works good but I do it a couple times a year. Gunk foam has worked for me in the past also. Be sure to follow the directions on the can and those little plastic bags from the store work good to cover stuff you dont want to get wet.
 
Try Purple Power, it's cheap and strong.
 
Meguiars Super Degreaser, quite a few local stores around me have it.
 
Simple Green makes an automotive version of their cleaner and it works great and is very cheap.
 
Gunk works REALLY well at cleaning under the hood.
 
Simple green and purple power are great OTC degreasers. But, be careful as they are fairly powerful and if not used properly can etch aluminum and chrome.
 
Zep Citrus Degreaser is pretty much the best OTC cleaner I have found after going through Purple Power and a bunch of others. It is cheap too at less than $10 per gallon and is dilutable.

Can you find it at Wally World or Home Depot?
 
Home Depot has the ZEP line of products. When you get the chance try some Meguiars APC+ .

I have some and love it. I am trying to remove some stubborn grease stains out of some carpet and nothing has worked. Figured I would go to the degreaser and see if it would come out.

Get the Zep spot shot at HD it will take off everything but the fibers.
 
Deff Zep Citrus Degreaser my goto cheap safe extremely dilute able n citrus power works great n smells great in general
 
I agree, Zep citrus degreaser is very very good. I once used it full strength to remove some NASTY grease stains from the driver seat and carpet of a ford service truck. Folex and my upholstery shampoo did nothing so Zep was my last choice, it worked great.
 
haha it wont be the last time someone bumps a 3 or 4 year old thread im guessing they just didnt notice how old it was.
