The oft misquoted Billy Shakespeare line appropriately describes the following.
After using APC+ at 1:4 and Stoners Carpet Cleaner the spots on my husband's floor mats still looked like this. What are the spots?.....I have no clue..

So I went to the HD to pick up the Zep Citrus Degreaser someone suggested in http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/products-guides/25267-otc-degreaser.html While there, I found some Chem Dry spot cleaner packaged with one cleaner for "water based" stained and a second for "oil based stains". It was only 4 bucks so I said what the heck.
Following directions, I sprayed the spots as directed and blotted with a dry cloth then a damp cloth as directed. This is the result.

Not perfect, but 95% of the spots are gone and you have to look real close to see them. I suspect if I hit them again, they will be 99% gone.
In summary, the Chem Dry carpet cleaner is a winner for greasy spots....
