What's your favorite product to detail your dash?

I have used both DP protectant and Poor Boy's Natural Look. I fine myself using PB more and more.

I have the 1Z CP and the UIGP coming on my order. Cee Dog stated some concern in his review with using 1ZCP prior to applying UIGP due to the 1Z leaving something behind.

Anyone experience any issues using these 2 products together?

any of these products ok to get on the screen of a navi system or on the gauges or inside glass on the doors without making a mess?

This morning I used 1Z CP to clean my wifes guitar she recently aquired and it worked like a champ! Nice Cleaner!

I just went out and tried my Finish Kare Top Coat that I received with this mornings delivery. I like it! Applied with a MF, it spreads well and is no where near greasy. Darkens the dash without leaving a film or visible residue. It's not glossy, which I like. It claims to cut down on the attraction of dust, which I can't comment on yet, I have high hopes though!

We have a winnah!

Finish Kare's Top Kote is by far the best stuff I have used on my dash. While it *does* darken the dash, it does not appear greasy and does not leave a film. It also performs as advertised with respect to dust attraction. I.e., I get much less dust on the dash of my vehicles than with other products I have used.

Excellent product! :xyxthumbs:

I didn't see it on Autogeeks.com. Where can I find this bad boy?

If the dash isn't in too bad of shape I really like Megs Ultimate Quick Detailer. It doesn't change the color, isn't greasy at all and smells wonderful.

+1 for 1Z Cockpit Premium. It's a bit pricey, though. Megs' Quik Interior Detailer is a sensible alternative and available at local stores at a good price. If my dash needs a deeper cleaning, I then turn to Megs' M40. It leaves a deep satin look on my black dash. 303 leaves a tad more sheen, which is why I don't use it on my dash. I like the low gloss look.

:iagree: Pretty much the same here. I like Meguiar's M40 and the leathery scent it leaves behind..............

I think most decently maintained vehicles need little cleaning.. 1z is overkill when Meg's QID will do the same job although I will confess I put some 1z in one of the burgundy Meg's bottles. If you like 1z, the burgundy bottle is the better sprayer. If you are budget, a rinseless wash at QD strength will do the job perfectly fine.

I am looking for a new product to detail my dash that doesn't leave a greasy film, provides protection, and has low if any sheen. What's your favorite product, I'm looking for some suggestions for my next order.

Feed back please

Thanks,
David

I think you just described 303 Protectant. That's what I've been using for almost 3 years now and it does the job well. It leaves a nice satiny finish and the main active ingredient is the same for all dressings AFAIK, only the proportions change - plus additives that make it shiny, which neither of us want. This ingredient (PTF something) is supposedly a natural part of rubber and vinyl products and is what is lost with age, so it's like feeding it what it needs. It keeps my tires and trim looking brand new too.

Now where did I put those glasses?

I didn't look for it as a tire dressing when I pulled the Finish Kare products on AG.

I assume that you like it too?

Thanks for the link!

Kurt

Never tried it as I'm pretty happy with Megs QID.

I have the Megs QID as well, and there is no comparison between the two.

I think of them as two completely different products. The QID is more for weekly interior cleaning, while the Top Kote is more like applying a sealant to the cars paint, which is not needed nearly as often. In other words, you wouldn't use the Top Kote to simply clean the interior every week, as you would with QID.

I get what you're saying but the QID does add protection too.

So it says. But not that I can tell.

By contrast, when you use the Top Kote, there is a very obvious layer of protection being added.
