Quick Review: Optimum Opti-Clean

Just used Opti-Clean on some bug splatter on the front of my car and got to admit, it really impressed me. Pretty safe to be swiping the bugs off with the polymers in OOC.

Earlier today I cleaned Sky's engine, door seal, and door jambs with OOC. Use to use ONR-QD for this.

Also been using OOC to remove the fresh bugs off the front of my car after a drive.

I only snapped a couple pics as I wasn't necessarily planning on posting at the time.

Just placed an order for Opti-Clean. Too much positive feedback to not give it a try.

Rob, you will be happy you did! Did you get a gallon. Ive used over a qt of concentrate so far! I may retire my Bug Remover products!

I got the 32 oz size to start with so I could just give it a try. As I understand it, the 32 oz bottle will give me a gallon of working solution, so that should be plenty for awhile anyway. :props:

I got the 32 oz size too! so there's a gallon waiting to be used :)

Cee Dog, what do you use on the plastic parts in your engine compartment? And, is it the same as what you use for your interior?

The interior as you see it in that picture from yesterday has Ultima Interior Guard Plus on it.

The engine as you see it there was only cleaned with Opti Clean yesterday. The dress it has on it is leftover from last time I used 303 AP on it if I recall correctly. Ultima Tire and Trim Guard will work well on the engine also. You can coat everything under the hood with UT&TG.

So what is the difference between Opti-clean and OID? I know one is a cleaner and the other is a detailer, but in my mind they both seem to be used the same way except the Opti-clean seems like more of a waterless wash

I believe you answered your own question Jenn.

Just wanting to make sure I had it correct in my mind....

Jen, Corey did a great review on OOC a few weeks ago. Dr. G answered a few ? It can be used on dirty surfaces you wouldnt want to try OID or ONR QD on. I love this stuff and it is very versatile!

You answered your own question.

Quick Detailers are not a way to clean your car and shouldn't be used that way....although I know many people do.

Yes it would be much better that ONR @ QD Strength for bird bombs. Spray on, let sit, then wipe carefully!

As Woob noted you'll want to allow a towel wet with ONR or Opti-Clean to sit on the bird bomb for a few moments to loosen and soften it then try to "lift" or gather the bird poo up into the towel. Repeat as needed then re-seal. Avoid wiping the bird poo off the car.

Birds eat sand/dirt to help in their digestion and they poo that grit which is why you'll want to try and lift it up off the car.
