Poorboy's Microfiber Towels

What do you all mostly use DMT's for?

I use them for quick detailing, final buffing, rinseless and waterless washes. I use Cobra guzzlers for drying and the Cobra WW for glass cleaning.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of the silk edge as they cause streaking when wet.

I've never had an issue with that. As a matter of fact, the DMT's are really the only towels that I've never had any issues with. All the others that I've tried either linted too much or lightly marred paint.

I went over to Poorboy's web-site and bought $150 of towels only for them to tell me my Amex card was no good! I called the Amex to find out what's going on and they had no idea, my card was paid and in good standing..

I hate it when I'm trying to spend money and they won't let me!

Poorboy's loss I guess.............all the more reason for Autogeek to carry them..:props:

I'll have to give them a try then. I'm pretty fed up with the linting and some marring that I have been getting with the cobra 600 jr's. I have some green ones that lint so bad I cant even use them and they are new...

I think I may just buy one towel from a few vendors until I find what I like.

That's what I ended up doing........I've given away most of my Cobra, Meguiar's, and Griot's Garage towels. The Megs and Griot's towels were good, but once I used those DMTs I pretty much don't use anything else. The Cobra's just linted way too much for me and seem to lightly mar on occassion. I've never used Poorboy's WW towels because I am very satisfied with the Meguiar's and Cobra WW towels. But as far as buffing towels go nothing compares to Poorboy's DMTs, imo.

I mainly reserve my DMTs for final wiping of my finishing polish pass, for wiping the LSP from the finished paint and for QDing. I have a few odd colored DMTs that Pockets gave me that I use to dry my car with while using a QD as a drying aid between waxings. They are absorbent enough to dry with and easy to wring the water from and super soft. I wash them separate from my other towels so they don't get contaminated.

Don't give up yet! These towels are worth the effort! :xyxthumbs:

Thanks, Dave. I would probably use them for going over my car with QD after I wash and dry(leaf blower).

What do you use to remove polish, sealants, and waxes?

I use the Griot's Wax Removal Microfibers (I forgot about these, they're nice too!) and/or the short nap side of the Poorboy's DMTs.

I like the blue Cobra Microfiber mitts, but I think I'm going to try Poorboy's mitt as well.

Cobra WW>PB WW
PB's DMT mf towels are very good towels, I would put them above cobra towels. I also love the Mega-Plush towels, great for final wipe downs and qd duty.
Pak Shak>All imo I actually have some really soft arctic towels I bought 3 years ago and still haven't used them. They feel so soft I don't want to ruin them lol :(

Of the several hundred microfiber towels I own Poorboys are those that I covet. I haven't counted but I would guess that 50-75% are from Poorboys. All other brands are regulated to lesser duties than use on paint....door jambs being a possible exception. They really are superior, Steve has a product goldmine here and getting the word out to other members here is needed. Cobra my butt! Sell Poorboys towels here please. You are missing a huge opportunity to sell a product (providing he can supply it) that is superior to your own brand. The difference in quality between what is sold here and what is sold there is inches to miles!

Sorry to be so upfront but that's really the way it is.
One man's opinion.

The Cobra towels are really the only AG product that I'm not overly impressed with (other than the glass towels and the guzzlers). The Poorboy's DMTs really are a great product.

I'll put my vote in even though I haven't tried the Poorboys MF towels.

You should try them, they're excellent!

Perhaps I will since I'm not particularly happy with the MF's that I have now.

I was considering another purchase from Pak Shak (been many years now) but maybe I will just give these a try.
