Ultima Elastrofoam

It used to be part of their line but the discontinued it. I hope they bring it back

It is still part of the Ultima line but I believe it is one of the Ultima products that Autogeek has stopped offering.

I think we need an Ultima line forum petition for unavailable products :)

Corey, have you tried this product yet?

I have not tried it. I thought long and hard about it when I was first selecting my products including clay. I ended up going with the regular clay. After talking with Jim about it I will be getting one to check it out at some point.

I got it on BOGO when AG closed it out. It is fairly agressive, It works great on large planar surfaces. It doessnt work well on edges. IME it is a great supplement to clay, but not a substitute. You can get one on CG for less than $20. The Ultima Detail Spray that comes with it is unremarkable IMO. All other Ultima products are top shelf!

I agree that it is not the greatest product in the world. It will marr the paint all too easily, however I use one regularly at the dealership that I work at. Specifically behind the rear wheels on the bottom of the bumper and the rocker panels behind the front wheels. Both are places where large amounts of tar and road crap build up. I use it there to avoid shortening the working life of the clay.

Well said. My clearcoats are hard as hell, so I dont see much marring. It is an excellent supplement to clay.

I use something similar, I think its called the Hi-Tech Body Sponge. Never had any marring issues with it. You do have to make sure you have a wet surface under it.
