Pinnacle Souverän paste wax

I bought a tub of Pinnacle Souverän, I prefer to apply wax by machine, but I always have a hard time with paste waxes. Is there a trick to getting the wax out of the tub? (I've tried hitting the bottom doesn't seem to want to come out) Is there an other way to apply the wax from the tub to the foam pad on my PC 7424XP?
 
I also like to use a paste wax applied by machine. I just take a hand-can opener and open the opposite end of the container...then just push the wax out like a deodorant stick...and wipe your polishing pad as if you were buttering a piece of toast. Use very sparingly and keep your pads clean (after every other panel...re-butter the pad)

My Pinnacle Souveran hasn't arrived yet but I've put tubbed waxes in the fridge to cool off then tip them upside down and give them a good rap on a bench. A couple of good whacks and they pop out pretty easily.

An alternative approach is to use an ordinary paint brush. I cut the bristles back to about 3/4 long so the spine of the bristle is short and they become stiff. Just press into the wax and apply what you've scrapped up and apply it to the pad. As soon as you begin to buff the wax softens up nicely and you're off and running.

Use a red or Gold pad and a setting of 3.
 
Thanks guys some good ideas, I am not sure how to get a can opener to "bite" on the bottom of the container. Maybe my can opener is different. I have used a plastic putty knife before, but I felt like I was wasting wax. I may try the paint brush idea. I use a red or blue pad

The paint brush approach is certainly the easiest to try. The red or blue pad will work perfectly as well. :props:
 
When using machine to apply paste wax, is it more wasteful then doing it by hand?
 
You can also use a butter knife and just spread it on your pad.
 
I just prefer to spank the bottom of the canister several times, the cooling idea is next to try ...

Do you notice a difference between red and gold pads?

I typically use a 4" red pad now as I felt that the 6.5" CCS wasted product. What size do you use?

Hey Kurt,

To be honest with you the gold is softer than the red but functionally I saw no difference at all. I only have one because I wanted to try it but for what I do I couldn't see any difference.

I use either 5 1/2 or 6 1/2 what ever I have handy. because I'm applying wax only with little to no pressure a 6 1/2 pad works fine.

:iagree: Like I said, my Pinnacle Souveran is still in route because of the Black Friday special so I couldn't say for sure. Mark on the other hand has it and uses it so I have no doubt! :props:
 
I smack my container on the bottom a few times and then it pops out.

Once that has been done all you need to do is invert it on the foam pad lift the container slightly and gently squeeze the sides of the container to hold the wax in place and then swoosh it around the foam pad.
 
when I got my souveran from AG, it looked like it may have froze a little and cracked in shipping...luckily it cracked only around the edge of the tub, so now you can take all the wax out with ease....too bad I like to apply it by hand lol

they all have some cracking, its hand poured and cooling effect does it or so I was told.
 
and mine is cracked around the whole parameter and depth of the tub, which causes the almost all 8oz of wax come out in one block if it's turned upside down.
