Meguiars Ultimate Compound is good stuff!

is this stuff good for taking off slight scratches on clear coat? i have brand new paint and while i was trying to wipe off bug splatters, the microfiber left slight scratches.. or should i go with something less powerful?

alright thanks, i appreciate it for linking me to the products as well

How would you compare this to M105? I heard that they are very similar products.
UC has a little less cut, more work time, less dust and easier to remove. Still like 105 as a work horse.

105 will do the job but you should try something less aggressive first

Big fan of UC. I am really considering the 50/50 105/UC idea, I wonder if Mike will chime in as he is very familiar with Megs products.

Thanks guys ! I guess its so good its on back order now!

And thankyou Mark for letting us all know about it!:xyxthumbs:

You can get UC at most auto stores that sell meguires products, my wallyworld has it

Menzerna SIP is my go to for one-step! havent found anything better yet! i may give UC a try sometime though.

That looks nice. I have a couple of questions.

What buffer do you use and at what speed?
What type of pad and pad size do you use?
What's the size of the area you work the polish in?
And how many passes do you take before the polish is broken down?

Thanks!

For one-steppers I use Menz PO203S. Its cut is a tad below SIP but it finishes way better IMO. I often times find myself using SIP as part of a two step polish session where I finish with either 85RD or M205. :buffing:

Either way, it's all dependent on the type of paint. I'm glad SIP works well for you :D

SIP and P203S are good 1 step polishes. However, I don't like knowing I have to break down abrasives.

Good info here. I am waiting for an order of 105/205 to get here and I want to start a detail tomorrow. I might go pick some of the UC to give it a try on the Accord I am going to work on.

I was gonna go with my Adam's products, but I am always down to try something new.

Doesn't have quite the cut of M105, but not too far behind. It's still very good for a compound.

Sounds good. I wish I would have read this BEFORE i ran to Autozone to pick up some QD for claybar lube. DANG!

I recently had great luck on newer black Honda paint. I did the hood of a Honda Pilot that had typical swirls from improper washing/drying and the one step of UC/LC Orange CCS pad/PCXP and its was darn near flawless after that one step.
