How to hide small cracks/checks in paint? Turtle Wax Color Cure equivalent?

The same process works well on these too.

I've got those as well, ha. I always thought it was clear coat failure, that caused the paint to crack. I don't understand how you can possibly make that go away, or even look better for that matter. If you can fix that...I would love to see it. :dblthumb2:

I used the tw color wax stuff, and I wasn't impressed. Didn't do a damn thing for the small bug chips, imo. Maybe I expect too much, like the product actually does what it's supposed to do.

I'm not saying that I can fix it, what I am saying is that when DG # 111 and or clear sealants such as Opti-Seal cure (or cross link rather) they do so and stay invisible or clear. They do not dry to a chalky or crusty white deposit that is seen in the checking both in my photo and the OP's photo After polishing over the checking, what you see that stands out like a sore thumb is polish residue packed down into the cracks of the checking.

Suppose now that I take and soak the area with IPA and keep it wet for a while by dabbing it with an IPA soaked cloth and then pretty much immediately blast the softened crud out of the cracks with pressurized water. Now what I have is checking or cracks that are no longer filled or packed full of white polish residue.

At this point, if I would put...let's say... Natty's Red on the car and rub it down into the checking too. After the Natty's dries for a day or so it turns white down in those checking cracks and we're back to square one, white ugly sore thumb checking marks packed full of dried Natty's residue.

However...If I use a clear sealant that dries clear... Of course the checking is still there but it is a lot less noticeable now because instead of having chalky white goo packed down into it..we have a clear layer of protection in it that just shows the color of the base paint. Get it?

Gotcha :dblthumb2:
