RENU FINISH – Automotive Trim Restorer
Manufacturer Overview
"ReNu FINISH™ is a tested product proven to treat and restore a variety of exterior plastic trim
ravaged by time and the elements. There is no need for taping or spray guns. ReNu FINISH™
simply wipes on to treat and restore exterior faded plastic trim pieces on your vehicle. After the
application, a gentle hand buffing refreshes the trim to showroom new condition."
Test Area:
I cleaned the area with IPA then applied ReNu Finish Auto Trim Restorer to the faded bumper trim.
I followed the included manufacturers directions and procedure that are included in the package.
First Impressions:
I found ReNu Finish has better directions than some "other" products and good applicator pads.
I'm not thrilled with the ReNu Packaging. I really
hate those "marketing" plastic cut-aways.
Application:
ReNu Finish is easy to apply, a forgiving, simple application with little to no streaking.
Look:
ReNu Finish does make the trim black, it has a very slight shine.
More of a matte finish that some other products I've tried.
End Impressions:
I have had a little difficulty applying other "long lasting" trim restorers on slightly bumpy trim.
ReNu Finish was much easier to apply on flat trim, and I encountered no streaking issues.
I had no issues with the product running down the paint after a rain and that's a good thing!
Durability:
I appeared (for me) that it lasted about 2-3 months from a single application.
IMHO not the "longest lasting" product but much better than trim dressings.
Epilogue:
ReNu Finish Auto Trim Restorer did a good job making trim black and it's
consumer use friendly.
