I have both the PC 7424XP and the GG. The GG is hands down the better machine in my experience. I keep the PC setup for 4" pads and the GG setup for 5.5-6.5" pads.
ditto!

That was the deal Maker for me. I loaned mine to a pro buddy and he wiped the spindle sleeve after a year plus of hard duty. I called Dewayne. He arranged for another HD version to be shipped from GG. I got it in a week. I had to pack my old one and I just put it in an AG box and taped it up. UPS brought the new one to the door and picked up the old one at the same time. Build quality is not as good as a PC but warranty is unmatched IMO!One thing to keep in mind if you go with the Griots is that is does have a lifetime warranty.
I got the 3" too for this reason.I've got a Griots and the old UDM, both work great (griots sucks on corners, works awesome on flat panels, could be just me). I like having 2 machines in case one dies.
If I was a pro, I 100% agree, but for a hobbyist the GG warranty = No Brainer IMO.that warranty does not help you if have a job to do, while a new one is sent in the mail!
Thanks Mark for chiming in I was waiting for your reply I know how many machines you went though until your were happy .I've owned all of them, and sold all of them...lol. I decided that I wanted to have a traditional DA on hand along with the 3401. I bought another GG DA and that was an EASY decision.

Buy the Griot's over the others, I'm confident you'll like it.
Something I noticed was as long as I held the pad flat the new Griot's Garage Random Orbital Polisher worked just like a rotary buffer.
I couldn't stop it from rotating the pad and it was removing swirls and scratches like nobody's business and unlike a rotary buffer it was so easy to use.
Rumor has it Meguiars is retooling and coming out with a new G110/V2 .
Thanks for that info Al :xyxthumbs: Now anyone buying the Meguiars machine has to hope it's the new stock and not so old one that's been laying around on the shelf for the last 5 months . I wonder if Meguiars will recall back older stock and replace it with the new version . I would think this would be a interesting question for Megan to chime in on . I work for Volvo and when a new product comes they some time ask for the old stock back .question on MOL...
Q: Curious question (s) here. Does the resolution to the production issues mean the electronics on the V2 (ie pwr cord)? If the answer is yes, does that mean "supplier/vendor stock" will be R&R'd? I'm was just curious as I am now on my third unit and "if" I have the same issue, I was wondering if it would be a "new" or a "new reworked" unit? I know the VIN # should indicate which, but I was wondering what was happening to existing inventory at suppliers.
A: Yes, the quality issues have been resolved and all tools shipping from this day forward are brand new units. Further, however, there were production issues not related to tool quality that create additional delays.
That is the one great about having the detail classes you get to use any of the machines made and you also get to put them though there paces . I wonder if any of your class room Machines break if you would post it to the forums ??I really leaned into the Griot's Garage Polisher in a few places on this Challenger when I buffed it out and I'll stick to what I wrote over a year ago and that,
I would never try to replace a rotary buffer with this tool, especially when it comes to removing sanding marks over an entire panel or an entire car, but for all practical purposes, when using small diameter, thin pads you cannot make the pad stop rotating using common sense downward pressure on flat surfaces. By common sense I mean it would be ridiculous to push down so hard you're bending or warping the panel you're buffing on as that could stop or slow down pad rotation but in the real world you would never push that hard to remove defects.
It also maintains pad rotation better than the PC and the Megs versions anytime you're working on concave or convex panels on the 6.0 setting.
Do wear ear protection though anytime you're buffing over an extended time.
