Duragloss Users/Enthusiasts

That reminds me, I need to order a gallon of the car wash 901.
I can smell the cherries now !!

I do like the rubber / black molding restore. 271?? Nice lotion consistency.
I better order some more of that also, down to a little left in the bottle.

Just used the Odor remover in my kids car. wow it really did a job on clearing out the sweaty gym bag - sock smell.

guys iam new to duragloss . my local parts guy talked be into duragloss 111 ... for my minivan, have not tried it yet due to our ohio weather.. what do you think about 111 ?? also what product would you use for a jet black show car?? currently i use collinite

105 is supposed to be the newer technolgy. I used 101/601 on my friend's car over the winter, and it didn't hold up as well as the 476S we usually use.

111 is a great sealant. Like any sealant you want to be sure you applying it to a properly prepared paint surface, clean and hopefully free from defects. This product contains no abrasives or cleaners. You will find it to be very user friendly with good durability.

If you are in need of a good product to clean the paint prior to applying the 111 try their 501.

I top my sealants with Collinite 845 and it works extremely well. DG + Collinite is a very effective combo that is easy to apply and easy on the wallet. Nice looking too.

As far as a jet black show car you might prefer the looks of a good carnauba wax. Pinnacle Sovereign, Wolfgang Fusion, or for a lower priced option Collinite 915. I am sure the others will have some ideas for a show car LSP as well

I havenT used any of the products but would like to. I have a ton of other products and LSP's to use up first.

Funny story, I was in my local refinishing supply the other day and I noticed they now carry some of the DG products (not all but some), they said they are giving them a shot. When I asked about them they told me they weren't that great and are more of a consumer line and not to waste my time. I buy the majority of my Megs products there.

I thought was funny/sad that these products have been classified as subpar based on there price. I tried swaying their opinion based on what I heard but they weren't having it.

This kind of attitude is why good products are shelved. I did insure them I looked forward to trying them out myself.

They are good guys but focus more on the auto body side of things.

Wow! They are sadly mistaken for sure. Every DG product I have tried has been at the top of the class in quality and performance while being among the best values you can find.

A lot of people are stuck on "the more expensive the better the product". See if you can find out what products they are using and how they are using them. I do owe you some samples and I apologize for not getting those out. I have a few things going on right now but when I go home this weekend I will package up your stuff first. :dblthumb2:

I will agree with this.

I am using 101,105, 601,451, 901,and 951. Absolutely one of my favorite lines and quite possibly the best value for the dollar out there. IMO.

I agree with everything except "possibly!" I love AW, 105, 501, 601 and the best UV inhibitor of all time, 531! Car wash is great too.

Can DG #271 be used effectively of textured plastic trim?

Yes, it's a lotion type formula, apply with terry cloth towel folded up or an old sock.
Some of the stubborn stains I put it on thicker, work it in, before its 100% dry I then come back and wipe the excess off.

Seems to last for awhile even through rain/washes.

For the price a solid product.

111 is a very nice sealant. Prep your paint with 501 or 101, then seal with 111.
every cpl of weeks freshin it up with Aquawax.

Seems many get confused over 105 and 501. 501 is a AIO type product, has a good amount of cleaners and even though its a marine product it works great on car paint.
Nice slick finish after it's done curing.

I've had good luck topping DG stuff with Collinite 845, especially on black.

Will 1 coat of 501 commonly last through coin-op washes? I am looking for a good, durable 1-step that is not too expensive that I can use on DD cars.

I've had a couple of customers go through a coin-op and wonder why their car stopped beading.

EDIT: Sorry for the threadjack, just thought it would be a good place to ask.

Although 501 is an AIO is also contains polish an a durable sealant. There is no need to top it with 111. Topping it with Collinite 845 yields a great looking durable finish. Actually using 601 prior to 111(or mixing 1:4) improves bonding.

Can you get 901 in a 5 gallon pail direct from duragloss?

Yes, I called them yesterday about that. The cost is $120.00 not including S/H.

You can also get 55 gallon drums if you really like it, no, I didn't ask how much that would cost.

That's not much of a deal, is it? When you can get 5 individual gallons for $125.75 with the $5 flat rate shipping.

Yeah, that was my thinking.

I started to look at the Meg's Shampoo Plus - from reviews/discussion on another post. That stuff is running like $15/gallon.

Not that I really need another car shampoo, LOL, I've got the following sitting around and I only maintain two personal cars.

1 gallon of Megs Hyperwash (with maybe 16oz removed from it
2.5 gallons of Megs Gold Class
1 gallon of ONR (unopened) and another one that has like 8oz poured out of it.

I'm glad to see there's still a lot of interest in the DG line. It does not get promoted really, other than by word of mouth by satisfied users. That message can get drowned out by all the hype surrounding the newest of products to hit the market. DG's stuff just plain works and is very reasonably priced...what more can you ask for? They are working on new products too, but nothing gets released unless it is up to the very high standards as the rest of the line.
These are the products I have from them and continue to use after years:
901 (a 5 gal pail)
501
105
601
AW (all of the above bought by the gallon)
221 Leather conditioner
281 Tire Dressing
271 Flat black and trim dressing (by the gallon)
471 Bug Remover (by the gallon)
481 Wax Eraser
921 Fast Clean and Shine (by the gallon)
505 Water Spot Remover
371 Odor Eliminator
451 Foaming Fabric Cleaner
681 Plastic Lens polish
751 Rain Repel
755 Nu Glass

The only product I have tried that I will not buy again is the All Wheel Cleaner. It's not b/c it was a bad product, I have just found that Zep Citrus cut 4:1 was just as effective for most jobs as the 821 AWC was. For nasty jobs, I have to break out the Megs WB or Carbrite Acid anyway. Zep is cheaper and available locally. Other than that, I have started using the OB tire dressing and it is really nice. Everything else on that list I regularly keep in stock. They all work well.

Richy :urtheman:with regards to DG products & Detailing, if Richy say's so I buy it without question!!!

I have found the same. With all the products out there I find that I end up coming back to Duragloss and Collinite for durability and protection of the vehicles finish.

It seems its like one of those products that you would not give a second look, you try it and are amazed at the results.

It would be nice if Megan would give us a Duragloss and Collinite BOGO.
Hint, Hint, Hint.

When I contacted Duragloss, I was told their sealants can be layered and will offer an additional measure of protection. I like to start with 101 or 501, followed by 105 or 111 along with the 601 polish bonding agent.

After I have 2 coats of the sealant products applied, I apply 2 coats of 845. This combo is just now starting to fade on my truck which is outside 24/7 and has had several touch-less washes with their harsh soap mixtures over the course of the winter. The LSP's were applied in October.

501 topped with 845 will give you an excellent LSP combo. If you are willing to spend a bit of time, I think you can up the ante by layering the sealants.

PFix, For your information (and others), here is a thread I did a while back about mixing 601 and either 501 or 105 or 111 for that matter. I had originally posted it on L2D but posted it here too on request of RWright. Doing this saves time if you plan on doing multiple steps with DG. I do 601/501 followed by 601/105 followed by IW845 for bulletproof protection. Hope that helps:
