Hello guys. I live in Puerto Rico and Auto Detailing here is cheaper... and let me say WAY cheaper than all of you guys think. I've seen the prices people here talked about and I'm like WHOA! VERY different from here. I'm planing on doing a detailing business and I will share my prices (the prices I need to compete)

Headlight Restoration: $30 both headlights

Basic Wash/Dry and interior vacuum + tires and dash dressing: $15 (yes, I know... but that's the price I need to ask for since many car wash ask for $7.95 without tire and interior dressing).

Basic Wash/Dry combo + Clay (with clay lubricant): $60 (and even like that, many people don't pay for it)

Wash/Dry combo + Clay + Wax: $80 or best offer... yes, best offer!

and that's the basics... other things I still need to put prices on them. Tell me what you guys think about those prices

I don't think they're drastically lower than around me. I mean I get $89 for a wash, clay, wax. Headlights I get $50 for the pair. I've never heard of someone doing just a wash, dry, and clay before. Usually something follows the clay. So for $60...I think that's actually a lot for just a wash, dry, and clay.

The only thing that seems real low to me is the $15 service. I charge $25 just for a vac. But, that's mostly because I just don't wanna do it. But, if someone gives me $20 to just vac their vehicle...I'll do it, ha. :xyxthumbs:

well... yeah, usually something follows up the clay. I use a Quick Detailer unless the costumer wants a wax... but when the costumer hears a price like $80, they usually go like WHAT!?!?

Many people in Puerto Rico think we still live in the $5 Car Wash era

Your prices are about right. In my area, depending on if it's the hacks or the real guys the hacks are getting $15 for a wash, wax, windows, door jamb clean up, vac, tire shine. But I'm getting right around 60-70 plus claying.

Typically I get about $30 for a wash, dry, windows, vac, tire shine and dust the dash/plastics. Very basic, I'm in and out fairly quick.

There are now places in the Chicago area that will give you a soft cloth car wash for $3.00. Me and most of my friends use them, and they do a very good job. Everthing is brand new including heated dryers. One of my friends has a black car and I havent seen any scratches or hazing yet. We usually wash are cars twice a week. They also offer free vacuums, but you have to do it yourself.

That's nice but I bet that's an introductory price. Wait a couple of months! If they stay like that would be great...

from what pueblo you are my friend?? Iam from mayaguez. the problem here as you mention is the people looking for the cheaper price not quality. there are so many chops around using the word "Detailing" tha is hard for people to understanad the difference betewen a regular wash and a real detail work. the other day I saw a new lincoln suv full off holograms I almos cry, and thats is the kind off work you can expect from cheap "buffing" ofers. in my way to work there is a chop advertising "CRISTALISACION DE PINTURA CON PLASTISINA" what tha hell is that, clay if for cleaning dont have any polish ability...

I'm from Arecibo. Nice to see another Boricua here. Yeah, people here don't know what detailing means and it really pisses me off. I go to the Arecibo Flea Market and there's a car wash there that has a sign or different services. It says:

- Car Wash
- Car Waxing
- Vacuum and interior Cleanin
- Detailing

and I was like... UH!?!?!? Is detailing a service for them? What do they think is detailing then? As far as I know, detailing is not one service you give with a product or anything but the whole list of services you can give. That's why I took the opportunity to make a new Auto Detailers community here in Puerto Rico to open the mind of the common puertorican. Anyway, for anyone here who would like to befriend me in my facebook, Jonathan Molina | Facebook and again, nice seeing another Boricua around here.
