Show your mobile van setup!

Thanks for the comp Kris. Yeah, the ETQ performs well. It allows me to run what I need when I need it. I got it back during the holidays for $250 shipped to my door. Weights 95 lbs. and is roughly 3 db louder than the 2000w Honda, so it's very quiet.

Nice! I've yet to even turn mine on. I bought it also because it was muffled, and was meant to be quiet. Good to hear that wasn't a lie in the description, ha. :dblthumb2:

A friend just offered me a 6200watt generator for $350 should I take it. We fired it up in his warehouse and it wasnt that loud at all what do you guys think

6200 is probably overkill being what you need it for. But for $350 and 6200 watts...if you've got the space to carry it around without sacrificing crucial space...then I say why not?:xyxthumbs:

No, it's not a lie. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

That was a serious issue for me. I didn't wanna either annoy myself, or customer with a loud generator. When I read that the ETQ was muffled, and it had good reviews anyways...I had to get that one. The price was more than fair too. Thanks for reassuring me that I made a good purchase! :dblthumb2:

Some really cool setups here! If I ever start a detail business I'll probably do all mobile at first. I'm getting some good ideas here.

Once i get some of the stuff i ordered ill post up some pics of my rig and ill show u how i fit two truck boxes a 30gal tank and a pressure washer, a huge 3500w power inverter and still get 30 mpg city in a Honda Fit. I think a compressor is soon to come also cause i just saw the Tornador video lol

Our Fits have a surprising amount of room on the inside! More than anyone expects. I can't wait to see this one.

Yeah its insane how much it holds. I have pulled up to customers house and they kinda look at me funny when they see how much comes out of it lol. I have actully been trying to stream line everything now though. I normally work out of two huge truck boxes i keep in the fit but now i have bought the auto geek detail bag and have managed to fit everything i use on a daily bases in it and i have also got a bag for my interior guy (his is just a stanley FatMax tool bag). So now all we have to bring out is the shampooer, vac, the two bags and the microfiber box whish should make things alot easier. I will still carry the truck boxes as they have stuff i dont normally use but i do still use every once and awhile. If his camera works tommorow ill post some pics i should have my big magnets by then to.

Im not really to big of a fan of the idea of running a huge load generator so i got a 3500w power inverter that will run anything i need to and dosent use half the gas a generator does running the car and since its a Fit its really quiet,

I remember seeing a post about somebody who is showing a step-by-step process of how he built his mobile detailing trailer. More particularly, I remember a photograph of a plastic truck box on each side of the trailer. I've been looking everywhere for this post, and I'm sure it's right in front of my face. Would anybody have a link? Thanks.

Doesn't ring a bell. I know I had a thread about building my van...but what you described doesn't sound like me.

Do you remember what kind of vehicle it was? Cause I've probably seen every thread related to building a mobile unit, cause I searched for a while to build info on mine.

It was an open utility trailer, that I know for sure. I'm searching for the post because I'm about to start customizing my new trailer after I pick it up this week and I wanted a few ideas. The guy must have had 30 or so photos documenting his entire build.

Hmmm...let me know if you find it. I'd like to take a look!

Wow, that's an AWESOME setup. I like your logo a lot. I Feel like a lot of detail business use that outline of a car over the name. I can see why...it looks really nice. :dblthumb2:

What do you got in that bad boy??

Superior Shine can you post pictures pf the inside of the trailer and van. Also what size is the trailer

For the most part, everything I need is in the trunk of my Ford Escape. If I use my platform to sit on, but if I need something shorter, I just put my stool in the back seat. Everything fits just fine. I store my extension cords/hoses/attachments inside the 14 gal shop vac. I try to make good use of the trunk space and arrange it in a way that is easy to get to. Also, there's a small tub in the mix that I didn't label that hold my headlight kit.

^^ my most handy item, my mobile tool box. It fits all my most used bottles/ detailing brushes, clay bar. I just pull it out and roll it next to the vehicle I'm working on. 90% of the stuff I need is in there.

I keep a few tubs in my garage for my bulk items and top off my bottles before I head out. If I think I need more product of any kind I just bring it with me.

When my vehicle is packed full, I can still fit 5 people in it lol Lately I have been bringing a lot of my stuff inside because of the cold weather. But it only takes me 5 mins to repack all my stuff before I head out.
