Both of your statements are true!
Verizon is Verizon pricing no matter where you go. And I just got an iPhone and no matter where I looked it was always the same price unless there is a secret I dont know!
The only thing you can do is inquire for a discount based upon where you work. Or what clubs you may be a part of (such as AAA). These discounts can sometimes be HUGE!!! (A lot of people overlook that)
The way it works (and I will use AG as an example to simplify things) is this:
Max calls Verizon/Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile and tells them that he has 10,000 employees that need phones on personal accounts or Individual Liable (IL) as opposed to Corporate Liable (CL).
The carriers then research the company and check a few things:
Expandibility (is the company growing)
Current account (do they have one with us in good standing)
How many people within the company already have the service
Based upon these few things they will determine a global discount that can be labeled with a certain percentage. That being said the carrier for the potential to have 10,000 people will offer something around 15%...
It never hurts to ask if you get an employer discount, you may very me surprised at what you find.... They will more than likely ask for an ID badge, paystub, or other proof of employment just so you're ready.
Good Luck!!!!
