Going to get an iphone and wondering are you pretty much locked in to the Verizon store for the cost of the iphone or are there any other options? I've searched the internet but unless it's direct from a trusted source some deals are too good to be true..

***Also, it seems most all Verizon plans are the same, no matter who you buy from. True??

Both of your statements are true!
Verizon is Verizon pricing no matter where you go. And I just got an iPhone and no matter where I looked it was always the same price unless there is a secret I dont know!

That's what I figured. I wish I had a lock on the market like some of these guys do.

The only thing you can do is inquire for a discount based upon where you work. Or what clubs you may be a part of (such as AAA). These discounts can sometimes be HUGE!!! (A lot of people overlook that)

The way it works (and I will use AG as an example to simplify things) is this:

Max calls Verizon/Sprint/AT&T/T-Mobile and tells them that he has 10,000 employees that need phones on personal accounts or Individual Liable (IL) as opposed to Corporate Liable (CL).

The carriers then research the company and check a few things:
Expandibility (is the company growing)
Current account (do they have one with us in good standing)
How many people within the company already have the service

Based upon these few things they will determine a global discount that can be labeled with a certain percentage. That being said the carrier for the potential to have 10,000 people will offer something around 15%...

It never hurts to ask if you get an employer discount, you may very me surprised at what you find.... They will more than likely ask for an ID badge, paystub, or other proof of employment just so you're ready.

Good Luck!!!!

Great I need to talk to Max, between the iPhone Service the iPad, and MiFi , Verizon is in love with me!
We need a Geek account!!!

This is an interesting thing to look at, I totaled up the other day what I spend on TV, Internet, Cell, AirCards, House Phone... etc. I have to say I was floored of the monthly amount I pay to use computer, phone and TV. You just don't notice since they are all on separate bills for the most part. Made me think of the days when we had an antenna on our roof for "cable", one phone in the house which you all had to take turns using... and I didn't see a cell phone up close till High School. And when my mom got one that was a cell phone in a zippered bag I thought we hit lotto!
My how things have changed!

This is close to what my first one looked like but not as bad!
