My first head light restore

Nate,

What a difference between before and after! I never sprayed the one's I've done in the past but now I will!! :props:

Thanks Flash,

I am getting use to them tonight Flash.I started on a 2002 Acura TL and a 1995 Accord before sun down and when sabbath is over tomorrow I will start back on them.I had my brother shoot a few pics of them in action so as to put a gallery together for customers that come in the waiting area of the shop.

Next.....The VX 5000?? We shall see.....

Shabbat Shalom ;)

Look forward to how everything turns out.

If I can ever help you, I'm not that far away and my wife would love to get me out of the house. So.... :surrender:

Shalom my brother,

I am going to look you up,maybe you can visit my brothers shop in Olive Branch, its Davis Honda and Acura on Downing St.I am working hard and learning a lot.I have a Honda Accord I just finished last night around 11.This job was a go behind. The customer had someone make 3 attempts on it and it was rough. The topography of the lens was wavy and spotted in appearance.

Pics coming soon.

This is the Accord I finished last and as stated prior the head lights had 3 attempts on them prior to me and I worked on them for 1.5 hours to get the surface clean and leveled again. What a perfect car to learn on.Then I played around with the hood and applied a little 105 and 205 because it was just totally neglected.Anyway back to the pics!

I had a bad cam and bad lighting in all these pics...lol

Thank you Bobby,

They are turning out very well with the spray and one thing I learned was and is to keep the can and the lenses temperature around 70-75 and the lay and bonding seems to be good. The color is very crisp, glossy and clear in person.Pics really do not do the finished product on any detail inside or outer of the vehicle justice as I am sure you know.

I am going to try a little Max Spray 1K and see how it looks next.

Nice job, but I thought you're supposed to finish with 1500 grit?

07 z-oh-6,

Thanks,

I am trying new things, different ways to spray these and sand these for best results.I managed to not have to have a follow up wet sand for slicking them out.If there is any imperfection or lumping in the clear I will wet sand with 2000/3000 and coat again.

Nate....

You're spraying them with the rattle can urethane and not the urethane/mineral spirits mix, correct? Any long term results yet?

Yeah man,

She was a rattler...lol

I did coat the lens every time with MS before I covered it with the spar.I have only been doing it for a month and nothing but happy results so far.Oh,keep the cans and lenses somewhat warm and it will lay perfect and clear.

I will keep you posted.

The lighting and my camera on the phone did not work well that night. It looks much better in person.
She was stoked about it.She is the doc bringing it back for the detail we talked about.
