Get the backing plate that comes with the starter kit(this is the same one I gave you a link to). It's designed to work best with the MF system. It's keeps the MF pads cooler than with the Lake Country backing plate. The BP in the starter kit will also work perfect with any other 5.5" pad. I didn't know you already had CCS pads. They work great with a rotary, but with a DA, you want full pad contact to the surface(CCS pads have the little dimples). However, the CCS pads will work fine with a DA, but the flat pads might work a bit better, not a huge difference though.i already have some 5.5 in ccs pads i use with my rotary. will this backing plate be good for those pads? lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate
or would the 5 in BP work with all my other 5.5 in pads that comes in the megs kit Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System 5 Inch Starter Kit, paint correction kit, dual action polishing kit
and why flat pads instead of ccs 06?
Absolutely nothing negative using flat pads with a rotary, as well as using CCS pads on a DA. They both work great on either tool, it's just one may have a slight advantage with either tool. If you want to save money at this point, use the CCS pads with the DA, you'll be fine. You definitely do not need the extra backing plate you mentioned. The one that comes with the starter kit will work with any 5.5" pad. It's a great backing plate. :xyxthumbs:would there be a negative effect on using the flat pads with the rotary? so i guess i shouldn't buy the extra backing 5 in BP i mentioned above correct?
No problem, bud!:dblthumb2:thank you z-oh-6 not only did you give me good info you saved me some moneyhey maybe you could help me out a bit once again, i have menzerna sip, po106, and po85rd what are the working times and rpms using a rotary and a DA?
thanks z-oh-6 and rask im going to order the system and i guess i will get the GG or the g110v2 which one is better? rask can you send me a link to the one you rec.
Rasky, you've never used the GG DA?I just ordered the GG and should have a G110v2 coming too. Been using the PCXP for a while now, but after all the reviews on the other two I finally decided to pull the trigger.

^^ Genius ^^Long working times with Menz
On the rotary I would use the zenith point technique with Menz polishes. Dave KG covers the technique mid way down in this excellent guide, found here.
On the DA they take longer to break down. I start on a speed of 5 to spread the polish around. Then I bump up the speed to 6 and use moderate to heavy pressure, using slow arm movement until the polish starts to go clear (usually about 4-6 passes). Then I'll let up on the pressure for one pass. Finally I'll bump the speed down to speed 4-5 and I'll do two more passes with light pressure. (May very depending on paint)
Rasky
rask im reading the zenith point technique and it shows that you do about 16 passes. wouldnt the panel heat up to much and eventually burn the paint?
