Moldy Interior (link)

Whilst it does seem impressive, without complete interior removal (seats, carpets, headliner, doorpanels, dash, vents...) that car still has millions of mold spores left behind

It does look much better though. Give the man a trophy :dblthumb2:

I wouldn't have touched it. Props to you for doing the work.

My initial feeling was torch it.Then I thought ,was this car detailed for sale purposes? I sure hope not.

Have to give the detailer major props?? For visiting the jungle that day.Wonder if he didnt get some rare 3rd world infection from this job.

I would have suggested a bonfire.

WHOA!!!

Thats an awesome turnaround!!!

before/afters are simply unbelievable!!

I bet, the owner was shocked too! lol :D

btw, this makes me wonder, do I need like those mini de-humidifiers for my car's interiors?(just to preserve them in excellent condition)

I can't believe that the Shamwow in the back didn't take care of that mess...

After looking at the mouldy interior on that Audi, I had gotten really concerned about the interiors of my love!!

So I bought a portable De-humidifier for keeping it in the interiors.

I hope nothing of this sort ever happen to anyone!!

Wow - that was gross. After reading the comments on the other forum I think I am happy to be at AG :dblthumb2:..... are most forum's language open like that?!?!?

Great work!!!! I hope I never get a car like that, unless I charge an arm and a leg. :)

I completely agree flash, there has got to be mold hiding behind panels, in the carpet, padding, behind dash, inside vents, etc.... there is no way to remove every mold spore without tearing things apart. I did commercial and residential mold remediation several years ago, and it was no fun at all. Knowing what was in the car, I would not feel safe driving it without a respirator and fully suited up.

But, the detailer did an awesome job, most detailers would be too scared to clean up that mess.

HAHA!!! That's so funny you said that man. I just read the comments, and thought the same exact thing. It's like a gangsta detailing community in there. Mad props...word to ya motha. :dblthumb2:

Props to the guy though...He did a pretty good job. He made it look good, but with mold like that...why even clean the surface? A situation like that you need to pull the seats, replace the carpet and start fresh. That carpet was a sponge for that mold...no good anymore.

I also didn't see him mention that he steamed the vent tunnels. Those were probably filled with mold. I bet it smelled great when you flip the air on, ha.

That is just nasty! I don't think I'd even try to tackle that unless I was getting HUGE money!
