Best invention ever! Man, why it took me so long to buy this, I'll never know! It truly does dry spot free. I can now wash any car in 100 degree heat! I no longer have to touch the car after I rinse it which means less chance of marring the paint! If you're on this fence about this system, take the plunge, it's worth it!! No more worrying about water spots!!

Yeah man it's been on my wishlist for a while- gonna have to pull the trigger

How efficient is the system? I was reading about the product and it seems that the filters are no good after 100 or 300 gallons depending on which one you get.

Don't take this the wrong way (I don't know if this is your intention), but is this system really cost effective to use on customers cars? I'm sure the system is cost effective on higher-end cars, but roughly $0.40-$0.70(depending on the filters) for every gallon that is filltered seems pretty costly to me.:dunno:Feed back please

I plan on getting one for Rinseless washes and for the HOT days like you mentioned. Still trying to get up the money.

Are you going to be using it for personal use or a business? I have been thinking about getting one to use on my cars, but was unsure how long the deionized water will really last. Could you follow up later with a review and let us know how many washes you get before having to replace the resins?

I agree with 05RLS2; my main concern with the system is how long the filtration cartridges would last. Mark, a followup after you've used the system a while would be awesome!

Oh boy, another detailing equipment purchase is on the horizon for me! This forum is addictive! Thanks for the review.

I use it to wash my car once a week, and for when I detail other cars a few times a month. You can tell how many gallons of DI water you will get even before you buy the system. You will need to test the TDS of your water. You can get up to 2000 gallons of water if your TDS is low(50). My TDS is 245, which equates to approximately 350 gallons of water before I need to change the resin. There's a meter that lets you know when it's time to change the resin.

I love mine. But I have modified the way it's used since the first filter change was required at barely 15 washes.
I got a smaller version of the canister and use it as a pre-filter to make the two big canisters last longer. And so far it is working. The smaller canister uses about 1/4 the resin that the bigger filters use. I have found that if I only use filtered water for the final rinse I only have to change the smaller canister's resin every 10th wash. And my bigger canisters have not required changing since I started using the pre-filter. And my TDS meter is only reading 15.
So it looks like I may get 225 washes before the two bigger canisters need changing as indicated by a TDS reading over 250 or so. Now I will probably not get that many washes since I bet the depletion rate of the resin media won't be linear. But it's a HUGE improvement over having to spend $100.00 after only 15 washes.

Hmmm, this may be worth looking into for me in the future. The water around here is pretty hard, so I don't know. Please update this thread when you use up the filter, I would be very much interested in how practicable this system is.

CR spotless is cool but the resin upkeep isnt if you buy replacements from CR..

Be careful not to get carried away.. IME your wash will dry absolutely streak and spot free while your tds is below 10.. At 15 to 20 i get waterspotting on windows.. I get waterspotting on paint too but my eyes can look over it on paint after a day or two but the spots on windows wont let go from my eyes.. The spots itself is minscule only about 0.1 inch in diameter but still when i am anal about it i can see the spots

The secret is very low TDS check out window cleaning or reefing / aquarium websites for second opinion

I love the CR Spotless. I get about 20 washes from each replacement. That's a wet down, wash and rinse.

Tad explained to me the following things: You should only use the CR for your very final rinse. This way the resin will go MUCH farther. Even then because there are minerals in the air that will land on the drops of water very very minor water spots are still possible if you dont dry them or blow them off.

Sounds like it's worth the investment Mark!! :props:

I'm with John. I use it on on all phases of the wash. Is it absolutely needed to do this? No, the final rinse should be fine, but it's piece of mind for me :)

Congrats on the purchase Mark! It is pricey but well worth the cost IMO. I usually try to only use it on the final rinse, but even washing with it makes things different! :D

Foam Cannon produces a different looking foam too with Di water! ;)

my landlord just had the home one installed its awesome!!!!alli have to do is put salt in the one of the tubs when it runs low...
