Getting my feet wet with Menzerna polishes...

p1000219bp.jpg

They should play well with my 85rd and CL wax

Niiiiiice set. I see you have the new labeled bottles. Cant wait to see what results you come up with!

Is there a break down on the Merzerna polishes ? Compound, swirl remover , polish, wax ?

From Most abbrasive to least abbrasive for Menzerna:

FG400, PG1000, SI1500, IP2000, PF2500, FF3000, SF4000, SF4500

I dont think Menz makes a wax I think most of their LSP's are sealants. I could be wrong, the above list might be wrong too, its from what I can remember from training class.

Maybe Smack or Andrew can chime in and give you a better idea.

I hope that posting this link is ok. It's from another PBMA website. I'm not sure why it hasn't been cross posted here. It's a really good write up.

Got my package in today. Ordered it Friday night. Rupes LHR21ES with the 5" backing plate.

I thought this was cool.

Backing plate cover it comes with.

Pull it back and here's what it looks like.

Top handle area of the machine. Look at that Faux Carbon Fiber!

Label on the polisher.

Many vents to help with cooling I'm assuming.

I like the dial, very easy to turn and switch speeds.

Power trigger and lock. Was a little tricky at first to get it to lock but I figured how to get it to stay each time.

Power cord isn't as heavy duty as the one on my Griot's but it isn't cheap either. Looks/feels durable and isn't very malleable.

Back of the backing plate...lol

Washer for the "mod". Goes right in the middle of the backing plate then tightened down to the polisher. Simple enough.

First impressions of the machine...

The weight. Felt a little hefty at first until I lifted the GG6. The shape of this machine is very ergonomic for me.

It looks and feels very sleek and I can't wait to put this thing to use this weekend.

I will use it with and without the spacer to make my own conclusions. Unfortunately, I didn't order the Rupes polishes or pads. I plan to use it with Meg's MF cutting pads and LC Hydrotech foam pads as I already have many of them. The compounds and polishes I'll be using will be 101, 105, ScratchX, UC, 205, and the BlackFire duo.

Excited!!!Im the MAN:buffing::awesome::coolgleam:

Sorry for the long post guys.

^^^^ Talk about BEAST mode. Looks nice man, let me know how it performs. Great buy!

Here is a thread I posted in a while back.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/59120-school-me-merenza-products-2.html

I left out FF3000 because I hadn't tried it yet. My opinion on it now is:

Very similar to SF4000, just more cut and finishes out similar. Nearly impossible to tell the difference between the two.

Final verdict, I really like Menz products because you can really tailor the product to the surface. Sure you can with others, but I have had nothing but great success with the products. Yes I am biased.

Hope this helps!

I can't wait either. The only is I'm not a detailer and I reparely use componds (fg400) since cars in our household are in good condition. I'm sure I'll come in handy tho.

I can't wait til my next ag order arrives

^^ Nice! Are you planning on using those wash mitts for a rinseless or traditional wash?

Both. I ordered 1 gallon of Blackfire rinseless during the 5yr anniversary sale.
I think still perfer traditonal washes for now. Except for when I wash bigger vehicles like my dads 07 Tundra crewmax.

Just got it in today! 2 20x40 guzzlers on bogo that made me buy some stuff, IronX paste, Dodo blue velvet pro, upholstry brush, and Blackfire leather conditioner sample which smells exactly the same as Wolfgang leather conditioner. The Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Pro smell is DISGUSTING. I cant stand it.

I needed more space to hold my ever growing collection of detailing products (Darn you Autogeek with your great sales and BOGO specials!), so I stopped by Lowes and picked up a drawer and a cabinet unit.

You can get them in either white, pine or cherry color. I chose white. They are stackable as well.

Also, my Permanon Platinum that was on backorder came in today while I was putting together the shelves!

LoL you know your a detailer when you go out and buy stuff to store your detail stuff in! Good stuff man

I would have to say black licorice is the first thing that comes to mind, although its faint. It also has a spice to it kind of. Its gross! Makes my stomach cringe whatever it smells like. Its really hard to describe. Buy the panel pot for youself and find out ;)

Hey guys sorry I am late to the forum but today was a hectic day.

Menzerna does have a wax by the name of Color Lock Carnauba Wax. This is in a liquid form.
