Post Your Unpacking Pictures

I already lost the EGO turbo clip I got. It "should" be in the garage somewhere but I may just buy another one if I get over there. Haven't used the Oberk squash yet. I think Griot's has been saying Spring on the foamer for a while.

I leave the turbo clip on the blower, just slide it back so it's not on the button for the times I don't want to run on max power. That way I'll never lose it :)

Holy smokes lol, for me personally anything over 3 would be overkill. I could see using three on my pickup or the wifes jeep cuz the size, but not the buick. Of course i always hose off and at times pretreat if needed in some way b4 doing a rinseless since i already have the hose or pw out for doing the wheels. So only thing on the surface is usually at most road film.

Try out your process and see what works best for you man!

Do you use a rinseless sponge or GD method (lots of wash towels)?

With a rinseless sponge leaving a lot of dirt encapsulated on paint I figure I’ll need 3-5 per car….. overkill?

I use two of the medium 15 x 24 Gauntlets when rinse-less washing a large sedan or coupe. One to mop up the excess water and spread the drying aid, the second finishes it off. I have four of them on hand.

Towels still work good after using drying aids many times?

Yes, no problem at all. And that's from using a wide variety of drying aids too, from quick detailers, gloss enhancers, spray waxes, rinse-less wash products and Si02 spray sealants.

I do wash them within a couple of hours after use in a specific microfiber detergent though. In my opinion, the specific detergent makes the most difference in keeping towels performing over an extended period.

Cool thanks, i would hate to ruin all my newish gauntlets. I did try using some of my different drying towels with bead it up as a drying aid when i did a rinsless last time on the buick. Worked well, i did not wash them yet but right after i tossed them in a bucket to soak in 3d towel kleen. Hope that works

I think that’s the ticket is I wash them when done. I actually add some F&C detergent to my MF wash.

Was in a old Griots video but the said MF detergents are there to remove waxes, sealants and polishes and the F&C gets the dirt and grime.

Also I think washing on hot has gotten more gunk out of them to keep them running

That should be fine. I do do that sometimes and use whatever MF Wash I’m currently using.

I have only recently started washing microfiber in warm water rather than cold, seems to be working well. The switch to Rags to Riches was done a lot of good work too, reviving older towels and prolonging the life of others.

Everything I’ve read has led me to believe washing in hot will not hurt towels. The water does not get hot enough.

Also the fact I’ve been washing my towels in hot myself for over 2 years.

If you get a few old DIRTY towels and some that are hydrophobic try this.

Wash on hot rinse cold. Second rinse. 70% R2R 30% F&C detergent. White vinegar in fabric softener spot.

Dry 15 min on low and let towel hang dry for rest.

I use warm as well. Cold water temperature varies a lot more from winter to summer around here.

IME they do, but only when using them with drying aids. If I were to use them by themselves, you can clearly tell the difference as they’re simply not capable of performing like they once did.

I just finished my gallon of Rags2Riches and won’t be re upping it. I’m going to try using Tide Free & Clear which I’ve been using for clothes recently. [I’m on my 2nd jug] The only thing that kinda turns me off is how little suds it seems to produce as I’m sort of a suds lover. If I wind up not liking the Tide I’ll go back to 3D Towel Kleen. I wasn’t too impressed with R2R + the scent wasn’t very good.

You mean if you were to use the towels by themselves you can tell they degrade?

And good to know about r2r, never have tried it.
