Post Your Unpacking Pictures

That’s a great thought, quite possible, especially with it showing up at different places on the same day

I’ll let you know what the label says when it shows up

I ordered from Power Parts as well. I would have probably gone to TCG and picked it up but cheaper with free shipping is an easy choice.

I had to pay shipping but it was minimal

Came out to $34 and a few cents

I was searching the clearance section of the website of one of our auto chain stores, looking for any good bargains. Found these.

The TWHS Graphene Infused Max Wax was reduced from $28.99 to $10.00, not sure what I'm going to use it on yet. It might be good for the wheels on the Qashqai, or the Bull Bar on the FJ.

The Sta-Bil stuff I've never seen before, I know of the brand, for fuel stabilisation products, but this is for protecting mowers and snow blowers, simply spray on and leave, but I thought it might be good for my black powder coated wheels, it can help prevent rust, which is starting to appear, it was reduced from $15 to $5, so I bought 2.

The only problem with finds like this is you run the risk of actually getting a winner and then you can't find it anymore

That can be frustrating but it certainly looks like you made a good score

I got a "shipping" confirmation with a USPS tracking number although the label hadn't actually been created yet

Fingers crossed

And by the way, why do I always end up doing stuff like this on Thursday or Friday so the weekend gets in the way of shipping

Ha ha, that's exactly what happened when I bought that 303 tire cleaner, it was discontinued before I even tried it.

Yeah. I got the tracking number as well. Not a big deal for me since it just means I wait a little longer to remove the stubby nozzle co nozzle.

Well the good news is this thing is one hell of a yard blower

It will easily blow the traction gravel that I had to spread on the driveway a few times to the side of the driveway

Grass clippings won't stand a chance

That's why I needed easy changeover ability

Got a new tire pressure gauge since one of my current gauges started leaking air. I'm used to having a bleed valve so I went with this Longacre.

Now to see if I can get a new rubber gasket to fix the old one.

Since I was just watching Lost in Translation over the weekend...that French description sure seems to say a lot more than the English...

I always chuckle driving through the Yukon and British Columbia and seeing the signs in English and French and the French part is just like that label, 3 times as long

Plus outside of a few people in Vancouver you don’t hear French in western or northwestern Canada

That sounds like you've driven from Alaska to the lower 48--you Alaskans are a hardy bunch, the one time I drove from NJ to FL and back I said I'd never do that again, and that was only 1000 or 1200 miles.

EDIT--oh, or it could be you drove from down here to up there--to get away from us.

I’ve honestly lost count of the number of times we have driven the Alcan Highway in the last 35 years

When we first came up in early May of 1989 it was still mostly gravel and pretty brutal

We were traveling on military orders and it was several weeks before tourist season, so many of the cafes and hotels weren’t even open yet so instead of the 300-350 miles a day they expected you to travel we did some 600-700 mile days just to find accommodations

You carried at least 2 spare tires, 2 jugs of gas, and you were guaranteed to get a cracked windshield and headlights

That’s when people proudly displayed their “I survived the Alcan Highway” bumper stickers because it really meant something

Plus we have been back and forth to the Seattle area on the Alaska ferry a number of times

Oh, I keep forgetting you went up there in the service. Air Force?

Nope, it was the wife, not me

She was a commissioned officer in the US Public Health Service

Their commanding officer is the Surgeon General

They aren’t technically military but they are one of the 8 uniformed services with the same ranks, pay, etc with the exception that there are only officers, no enlisted or NCOs

She did 25 years and retired as a Captain

They wear Navy uniforms and use Navy rank, so she is the equivalent of a full Colonel

Few people know about it and over the years it’s just been simpler to say military
