Intro:

This product needs a review pretty badly. I added this wash to my order because it was on sale for $24.99, and at the time of this review it is on sale for $34.99. IMO, the Pinnacle XMT GS&C is a great maintenance wash. I had the day off today so I figured my truck needed a wash.

Product description (http://www.autogeek.net/xmt-gel-shampoo-128.html)

Pinnacle XMT Gel Shampoo & Conditioner cleans your vehicle and enhances it with natural paint conditioners. Your vehicle is left looking shiny, slick, and beautifully clean after every car wash

Product claims.

1. Provides a safe wash.
True. The paint was not further swirled, marred or scratched.

2. Renews the shine of existing wax with nourishing oils and polymers.
True. The Collinite #845 beaded just as good, if not better, than after the wax had originally cured. ( 1 ½ weeks ago.)

3. Reduces water spots.
True. The tailgate of my s10 dried before I had a change to dry it. No water spots; and even more surprising, no streaks!

4. Does not strip wax or paint sealants.
True. #845 still doing well!

2.Color: Light Blue
3.Texture: Liquid gel.
4.Scent: J & J Baby Shampoo?!?

Process.

When I review car washes, I always use a one bucket, no grid guard method. As obscene as this sounds, I find it the best way to test the validity and effectiveness of the lubricants in the wash. You can usually feel and hear marring. This time was no different.

I used 2oz. in about 3 gallons of water. I had to let the suds settle a bid. Normally I would fill the bucket up and add the wash product last and mix well. But that doesn’t make for good pictures. The car was washed top down. Here we go: :checkit:

Final thoughts:

I really liked using the Pinnacle XMT GS&C. I was surprise that the wash helped prevent streaks and water spots better than the DP I’ve used (albeit, I used twice as much of the XMT). I’ll have to try the DP at the same dilution in the future so it’s fair. The results we close to the WG, although the smell wasn’t as pleasant, and I’ve never use WG on a protected vehicle (sadly). I’m planning to wash the truck again with WG in about two weeks for a good comparison. I would like to see how dependant the results were on the two coats of #845. The XMT is at an immense value right now as it is on sale. I’m skeptical is the product is worth the full price. I will try other wash products this summer and maybe have a conclusion of the best wash products. So far, this one’s really good, but I plan on trying Dodo B2BM, and DG 901.
Well, I had a pretty good day off today; slept till two, washed the truck, and wrote a quick product review. Now time to sit back and relax!

Awesome!

What did the direction say to dilute the soap?

I haven't tried the bone or those MFs you used, I might get some, not sure.

You should review the Dodo Juice Born 2 Be Mild next. I hear great things about that one and the 901, but I am more curious about the Dodo!

Nice review again, Ted! I haven't tried this yet but looks like a good product. Thanks for the much needed review on this product.

Dodo BTBM is my fav!

I just bought the Born Slippy and it smells really good. I think they need to be in the juice business. I told my mom to drink some and she almost did, especially with the name Dodo Juice.

Anyway, I really want to try that one. What's the dilution ratio for BTBM? I just have alot of Gold Class right now that I don't know if I will ever need more soap again!

The same as WG Auto Bathe; 1-2 ounces in a bucket, but the directions don't inform you of the amount of water. I used 2oz. to 3 gallons. Worked very well.

The Bone is my go to wash pad. I had the blue lake country, but it made sounds when I washed some cars with it, and that freaked me out. I'm planning on getting another one and some sheepskin pads for maintenance washes.

I'm hoping to B2BM get it with my next order. I just don't know when that will be.

You’re the first person that I saw who really recommended BTBM, Jim. Now it seems like a lot of members use it regularly. It will definitely be my next to try. Thanks for the suggestion, because I've been sold.

DJ BTBM is one of my favorites! Dilution is 800:1 or 10ml/ 1/3oz per 2 gallons of water. While not the slickest soap out there, it cleans very well, will not degrade an lsp(even with high dilution ratios), smells great, and is extremely free rinsing.

I really like the XMT: Gel Shampoo & Conditioner also. I got it a little cheaper when it was the VIP special last month at $14.99 for the 128 oz. :xyxthumbs:

nice review-i am sure they would sell more based on your review and the price you got it-the regular 50 dollar price is insane unless the soap can jump out of the jug and wash our vehicles for us

Nice review.

However, getting suds on the ground before even touching the paint is suds abuse...tsk tsk.

Suds are a terrible thing to waste.:rolleyes:

great review of the xmt. i also like the "kick back and relax beer pic"!

I purchased the XMT gel shampoo when it was on VIP special.
I agree with everything stated in the review and now find this to be one of my favorite car wash soaps along with the Dodo Born to be Mild.

I think $50 for a boutique maintenece wash is fair. DP is the same price but appears less concentrated, and does not have the "sudsability" of the XMT, if your a big suds guy. The only thing that bothered me about it was a $50 boutique wash smells like J&J baby shampoo.

Nice review.

Depends on who you are. The only time I let soap suds up in the bucket is when I am reviewing wash products, because that's what people tend to look for. When I regularly do maintenance wash I add the product into the bucket after it has the desired amount of water in it.:props:

BTW, the cat in my avatar pic; his name is Suds...:dblthumb2:

Good stuff, man. Good stuff.

I can't believe I missed out on the VIP. I still feel dumb for that.

I've been meaning to tell you for a long time that I have the same style of laundry basket as you, but in blue.

Very nice review Ted! :dblthumb2: Thank you for reviewing a product I have never considered or even looked at.

Great review Ted. This also happens to be my favorite smelling shampoo that we carry.

Nice review :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for putting this together.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but; Great review right here when I'm contemplating a new shampoo; more specifically this one.

Funny you complain about the insane price of the XMT...I'm considering the XMT because I just finished my bottle of Pinnacle BodyWork Shampoo...double the price of the XMT!!! Yes, the Pinnacle is twice the price of the XMT barring any specials. Would love to see a review of that one and/or a side by side comparison to see if it's truly twice the product!

Thanks. I will have to consider a review of the Pinnacle wash. I may do a side by side against XMT, and it's fitting to compare it to XMT, since XMT is a Pinnacle product line.
