There's gloss enhancing soaps, detail sprays, spray waxes, etc...but I think that goes against the whole point of an LSP. People seem to make a big deal of how an LSP looks, so why distort it? I only use non gloss enhancing soaps such as Dodo wax safe wash or born to be mild. I also only use non gloss enhancing QD's such as poorboys spray and wipe. I like the LSP to show it's true finish, not change the look of it with other products. :)

Makes sense to me, but do you really think it changes the look of the LSP? And if so, how much and how long? Although I imagine even a little change in the LSP's appearance defeats the purpose of using said LSP, like you say.

I definitely think some soaps will change the look, but not for too long at all. QD's too. Some spray waxes will change the look for longer amounts of time. I just don't like changing the look at all. :)

Now you got me thinking!? Right before bed too.

Doesn't bother me any; but I do think that only thing a gloss enhancing product does is revitalize the lsp, as far as gloss enhancing washes go...

Sometimes I want to keep the look and other times I want to change it. All depends on the situation.

Any LSP + FK 425 is A-OK in my book.

I just applied Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax for the first time yesterday, it cured in the garage all day today while I worked. It looks great, seems to have darkened the color a little but also still has the "candy coated" sealant look. Anxious to see it in the sun tomorrow, however it looks there's still a 99% chance that FK 425 will go on during my morning, fresh LSP, final-final wipe. Then it's off to renew my expired tabs

I always use gloss enhancing products. It does make a difference not only to me but based on comments I get about my car.

It depends for me. In concept I am no fan of that quality in a wash. However in practice I have learned otherwise. I think DG 901 and Dodo Sour Power both add gloss to the vehicle and they also happen to be 2 of my 4 favorite washes. It just depends. You aren't always working on your garage queen or a car you have meticulously polished to perfection. And if it's not perfect these products will make it look better.

Now when it comes to Detail spray or spray wax it's a different conversation. In this case they are your lsp. Not until you use them, but once you do they are the "last step product".

Having said that... I haven't used a detail spray or spray wax on my Sky in a long time but if I feel like it applying AW or Dodo RM or something else I like is not going to make her look worse... imo

Im the MAN

I don't think using gloss enhancing products make the car look worse, it just changes the look. ;) That's what I meant.

I should clarify, on cars that I detail this is thrown out the window, I'll use any product that will amp up the gloss, even if it changes the look. I'm not nearly as anal on cars that I detail, specifically with this subject, just my car. :dblthumb2:

After the initial wax application the finish does look its very best. That said, mother nature begins her assault immediately and that wet waxed finish begins to loose its depth and luster.

After a wash I like to give the finish a once over with a quality spray wax, something like Optimum Spray Wax. This seems to bring back that fresh wax shine and adds some additional protection to boot.

I find that Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant maintains the look of my Fuzion application. It brings back that soaked look, and IMO deepens the gloss. I guess the only reason not to apply it right away as an LSP is that the Fuzion needs time to cure, and I am usually beat by that point.

Anyway, I love using spray 'boosters' (FK425,WGDGSS,Liquid Souveran) after my weekly washes to maintain what I will call the primary or base LSP.

I knew I would be in the minority on this subject, but to each their own.

like MP states, find what works for you and stick with it:) doesn't matter what others think:)

I hear you Mark. I wasn't trying to say that's what you were saying. I was just saying that I don't think they hurt the look.

I couldn't care less what others think, I do what I like. I was just wondering if there's any others that think like me on this subject :)

^^ i'm the same way:) its always fun experimenting though to see what product does what:)
