I'm not a fan of mitts so these looked very interesting. I decided to give it a try. It turned turned out to really nice. They're not very big, but that allowed me to maneuver into small areas. They're not very thick, but the sheepskin is nice. They don't hold a lot of suds, but hold a good amount of soap allowing the pad to glide across the paint. On the flipside, I found myself dunking the pad fairly often. Being that they're on the thinner side(yet still plush) it allowed me to have a closer feel to the paint which helped remove bombs and contaminants fairly easy. They're not comparable to dodos sheepskin mitts, but awesome for what they are, and priced right. I ordered 3 of them for $13.99. I will be using these in a place of a mitt for now.

Thanks for the review. I still prefer cotton chenille wash pads. I used an acrylic wool wash pad and it marred the paint. The thing is, the car barely had any grime on the surface and I liberally sprayed it with hard water hose pressure. I used DG 901 as always - 3oz/3gallons of water. So it will be demoted to wheels.

These aren't acrylic wool, right?

:props:

No, that's why I want to try one of those. I just looked up the one I have, it's Polyester. Unless it's genuine wool nothing else will touch my paint again :nomore:.

I saw these and I do like they are not mitts..I just bought a RaceGlaze sheepskin mitt a month or so ago..I wasnt sure if i wanted to order these or not.

Thanks for clarifying. I though acrylic wool might be another name for sheepskin.

05....they're pretty cool little pads, give one a shot.

I got my eye on a gallon of the Griots HD wheel cleaner..and want to see what ends up on bogo today..if I make an order i might add one. They are cheap..that raceGlaze Mitt was 24bucks

You know.... because I desperately needed another wash media.:laughing:

I bought 3 of these as well based on a conversation my friend Jim had with Dwayne.

I haven't tried them yet.

I also saw they are called out as "GS" in the store. I think this was the same description on some wool mitts that I heard good things about.

Usually I use MF Chennille but I think these can find a place.

It will be local around the end of the month :)

Keep in mind these aren't as big and fluffy as the more expensive ones, therefore, they don't hold as much soap, but the sheepskin is nice. I like them for what they are.

Mark Mark Mark how dare you do a review and not link the product just to make me search the store :nomore:

I'm a big fan of "real" sheepskin wash mitts. I think as long as they are new and you don't scrub paint, they can be very gentle to highly polished finishes.

Before the fibers ever become tatty or begin to matte together, replace with a new mitt.

In my opinion, the synthetic cheapies will scratch the paint.

:)

Mike, I had only been using MF Chennille until recently. I purchased the Car Pro wash mitt for use on my Sky exclusively and I like it a lot! On cars not well cared for I think MF chennille is a better option (not that I tried wool on them).

LMAO!! I thought about that after I posted, but too lazy to go back and do it. I can't now, maybe Mike can?

I may pick get some today, but I really want some B2BM, too. Just depends on the bogo.:xyxthumbs:

If you feel a real sheepskin wash mitt when it's brand new after getting wet with car wash soap, it feels very silky...

There's all kinds of ways to wash a car and the condition of the finish will determine how careful you are in the way you move a mitt over the paint.

If you're washing a neglected finish before detailing, then while you want to be careful it's not super important because you're going to buff out the paint.

Now if you just spent 8 to 20 hours creating a true, show car finish, especially on black paint, like this,

Then if and when you wash it, you don't scrub the paint, you only make a few light gentle passes over it to gently loosen any surface dirt so you can then rinse it off with water.

And as soon as the wash mitt shows any sign of wear or if you drop it, you delegate it to bumpers or give it to a neighbor and replace it with a brand new sheepskin mitt.

It's more cost effective to invest in new, high quality wash mitts to wash show car quality paint then it is to buff the paint out again to remove scratches from a tatty wash mitt. At least this is what I try to explain to any customer I've worked for upon returning their pride and joy back over to them.

:)

Buy both! :D
I might do that.:dblthumb2: Gonna have to get a new cobra bone pad thing for the dirty jobs though; after 5 months, mine is starting to look pitifull....
