I feel the LC orange pad doesn't have...

It also removes 2000 grit sand marks as shown here

Based on my experience I disagree, which is allowed :). Here is one example:

Orange/M105 - notice the marks left behind which were not deep and cleaned up with cyan/m105

Cyan/M105 - the swirls and marring on this panel were worse than the above ^

Please disagree!! That is why we have this forum. Maybe it had something to do with my polish selection. I mainly use Menzerna. So in my scenario, SIP with the orange cut more than the Cyan and SIP on a 06 MB E55 (this is the most recent account of the difference in cutting). I have been meaning to try M105 but with all the talk of the dusting, drying, and impossible to remove concrete residue, i've been reluctant. I might just have to run to Advance Auto and pick up a 16 oz bottle to try it out.

the dustin is a PITA but if your using a DA it will be easy to remove when using with a ROT make sure your pad is saturated so it doesnt dry up very fast. with a rot it has hardly any working time.

I cannot provide feedback as I have not used SIP :(, you win ;). I'll be honest with you, I have not experienced any issues with removing M105. I have used it in low and high humidity and it was not like concrete. Yes there is some dusting with it but not a blizzard like sometimes described. Not sure how long other people let it sit on the paint but I wipe directly after polishing a section. Now D300 on the other hand, I have compounded 3 full panels (door, quarter panel, trunk) before wiping off residue and it was a breeze for me, yet I have read a couple threads where people said it wouldn't wipe off. All used on DA by the way.

I noticed it was easier to wipe off after the MF pad compared to a foam pad. Not sure why. Maybe I did something right.............or wrong....

is it fair to say that if you use 105 or ultimate compound with mf pads you would still run them at the same speed as you would with the 300?

Hey rotary guys, I did mention on a DA. :D Anything will work better on a rotary.

I just think the orange pad is made out to be more aggressive on the forums than it really is.

I just realized the same thing today! I guess speed and pressure play a big role, as does the "softness" of the paint.

you would run it at 4.5. some people say that the mf pads dont like to much pressure. I apply pressure but not very very hard.

Nice post!!

Black was done with a white pad and 105 and Corvette was done with Orange and 105

I must be doing something wrong because there is no way I can get my car like the black one above with only using white pad and m105. I can't get that with an orange pad. I need to get a yellow and cyan pad. I always end up with scratches still left (I just learned these might be RIDS).

What speed did you use on those cars above? Did you use a DA?

M105 with the MF pads buffs of with ease...it is odd though that a different pad has that effect isn't it. :)

But would you consider the MF pads to be 'safer' then a Orange Pad?

Safer in what way? I've never thought of either to be unsafe, but the MF seems better (safer) around trim.

Technique, severity (depth) of the defects, and especially the paint itself all play a big part in the end results.
