So I'm in the emergency room and I'm bored lol. So my brother and I rented a bob cat this weekend to do some 'minor' work. Well we got it stuck once so I needed to clean it. My washer on my rig is a Honda 13 HP 4000 psi. I was about done and I was going to do a final spray down. The nozzle I was using was adjustable. It was on full pressure and as I went to adjust it, it caught my finger and it scared the you know what outa me! I thought it may have taken it off. It's down to the bone! Doesn't hurt any more but it is the most pain I've handled in awhile.

Ouch! Even a 1500psi into can do damage. Be careful people. Glad it is not to serious.

Water under high pressure is used daily to cut steel, I'm glad it just "nicked" you!!

If you haven't sought medical attention I think you should. My guess is that the doc will give you 2 to 3 stitches in order to properly close it up....

I'm glad that you didn't hurt yourself any worse than you did. Hang in there.

Lol well I don't have insurance so I looked at the cut again and I just left. Maybe ill go back tomorrow if I change my mind.

Just go to the nearest Emergency room. It's against the law to turn anyone away and don't think you're the first one without insurance..

You can also visit an urgent care clinic. They're more affordable than visiting an emergency room and they are allowed to stitch you up. I've gone to them before and the bill has not been too bad, comparatively speaking. Maybe you could request a quote before they even do any work on your finger.

Lol it'll be healed before I got there.

I went to urgent care once for like a knot on my neck. They did absolutely nothing and charged me like $300!

the cut on the joint like that is will take forever to heal without stitches. everytime you move your finger you will aggravate it. I have super glued many cuts together but that 1 need stitches.

if you want to take care of yourself. I would suggest going to cvs or walgreens and getting a splint to immobilize the joint. then it use some super glue to glue the wound shut. no guarantees here as I am not a doctor, nor did I stayed at a holiday inn express. however I have played doctor on tv and a lot growing up. LOL.

If you have a local medical college in the area you should be able to get it looked at and stitched up for nothing. Be careful man! You could have cut a ligament with the location its in. I know it will hurt but can you curl the finger and touch the palm of our hand?? Its a good test, don't ask me how I know! lol

I went 15 years between major hand injuries. My last one was in March of this year.

I was using a carbide tipped hole saw, one of the expensive ones to drill Stainless and AR plate steels. My dumb self decides to hold a bracket with my left hand and use the pilot bit on the hole saw to drill the 1/4" hole I needed. If course this piece I was drilling into was plastic not the steel the tool was intended for. Of course the drill was on high speed and the highest torque setting!! The bit caught the plastic when it went through and pulled the carbide hole saw down onto my thumb.

The bit grabbed just behind my thumb nail and proceeded to pull down to the bone and then rip from my cuticle through the front of my thumb. It cut right through the nail like it was nothing.

So I FEEL YOUR PAIN MAN! About 35min after it happened it really didn't hurt anymore. The next day was a MOFO! LOL... Good luck man and go to the Doc in a Box.

The stuff they used to keep my thumb together was just like a Chinese finger trap. They stuck it over my thumb and pulled on some tube and it grabbed and pulled everything tight. They can't stitch under the nail.

Get one of those finger traps from the party store man!

For Gosh sakes man...Cowboy up...NOT!!!!!! You'll think Cowboy up if they have to remove your finger when it becomes infected. Chances are it won't get infected, but chances are just that...chances, and I'm not a gambler. Get back to the doctor man!!! Fighting infection, and/or removing a finger, will cost a heck of alot more than a few simple stitches and peace-of-mind.

They had me soak my finger in peroxide until it stopped bubbling. That would help fight infection if you have some laying arround. Fill up a cup and stick that thing in!!!
