guess i got use to a water based undercarriage dressing? went to use the griots this morning. sprayed it on slightly wet fender wells. it dripped and ran like crazy! looked like crap. wiped them down with a sponge. evened it out to a perfect shine. was the mistake applying it to wet fender wells? when i was using a water based dressing i never ran into this problem.

I think part of the problem is the Griot's sprayer and the viscosity of the undercarriage spray. It does not dispense very evenly when I did some experiments along with another undercarriage spray. Griot's is on the left side. To get even coverage without spreading using an applicator, you end up using way too much so it does run.

To get the best even looking results, you need to use an applicator.

good point Bunky. i did notice the sprayer was hard to get "just right". i remember trying cg bb in the 16oz size, and recall no issues. i did save that bottle and sprayer. next time i will transfer the griots to that sprayer and see if its any better. i also got a gallon of megs ASD to try on the wells. hope this will produce better results.

The griots sprayer is a pain to get just right, but it works well once you find the sweet spot..

I think it's a combination of the sprayer and product. I think it UC tends to be a bit greasy and runs. Apply it with an applicator or spray and wipe with a rag

Yup...its meant to be sprayed and spread...evens out and does the trick. If the wheel wells are really clean, a good spray wax, like the GG Spray on Wax, and evened out really dries out nice and keeps the road build up at minimums...

I use it as a cheater as I HATE to do wheel wells. I always get nasty and they always get nasty quickly.

All the solvent based UC sprays will dry with drip marks. I've gone away from them for this reason.

i think this is the main issue. when i used DK BLACK OUT 1:1 there was no issues. (water based). after a wash, with the wells slightly damp, i would spray them down without issue. no drips or runs. spreading out the griots yesterday was a PITA. alltho it did leave a great even finish. being megs ASD is not water based, i am sure it will also need spread out with a applicator. (a sponge works well for this). i think the ticket would be megs water based dressing. it also is to be used 1:1
