Dodo Juice Tyromania Review - TLC Auto Detail

right, late to the party as usual, thanks to Flannigan and 07 z-oh-6 for the reviews. now for some more info.... in no particular order or importance...

- there is an o-ring on the product 8)
- the one you pictured (and noted was un-opened) was opened before picture. i know this because the leaf seal tail will only leave here in the space left by the label around the product. however, as you say, in hot climates and left on the side it can seep out (even with the o-ring).
- the way i have been using the applicator is to dip it in (not really dig) and then very lightly rub over the rim of the jar leaving the excess in the jar.
- right, wax/liquid consistency. first, here in the cold of the UK we don't have the same leaking issues. (so move somewhere cooler - lol). BUT, in all seriousness, a lot of testing was done into the consistency of the product and we found that the oil to wax mix was the lowest we could get away with while still affording the product a decent shelf life. simply put, if we added less oils to make it more paste-like, it would need a sell by date. we are always trying to understand the properties of the products we make and the impressions of our customers; like Red Mist and Tropical, we had to come up with something to sort the flash time in hotter climates. i can't make any promises but if we find a better or more climate-durable way of making the product - we will 8)

Thanks for the response! The jar was in fact unopened, at least by me. It was exactly as pictured when I took it out of my box from AG. There was no tack left on the "leaf" and some of the color was even removed from the product that leaked out. Again I think I made sure to say that it's not anyone at Dodo's fault that this product got shipped in the summer, just something people should be aware of when they order. I don't think that I lost enough product that it's even an issue, but people in warmer climates should make sure to store it in a cool environment right side up.

all that said thanks guys for making another great product! I really enjoyed testing it, and will enjoy using it in the future! :props:

weird re the leaf, glad you like the product. really liked the review. 8)

i think you are right though, it might like it better in a cool dry place when not in use.

Great review Dave!!! Believe it or not but I like the looks of the tire after application.

I think Mark is wearing off on me cuz now Im wanting a more natural look on my tires too!

This tire dressing is definitely just that, NATURAL! :) Darkens while giving the slightest bit of sheen, if that. Just a fresh, new look. To some it might look "blah" though. I keep repeating this because I don't want to mislead anyone. I just ordered another pot! :righton:

Thanks Dwayne! I am surprised you like it.

So I had a chance to give Dodo Juice Tyromania a try on some very neglected trim. This vehicle belongs to my mother-in-law, so I should be able to keep an eye on its durability.

Like on the tires a little goes a pretty long way, so make sure to work it in to the trim before you add more product. If you over apply it, it can get pretty messy.

Here it is right after application. Keep in mind you might have to buff it a little after it is dry if you get any steaks. Just remember to not use too much product, and you will be fine. As you can see it darkens the trim nicely, but doesn't add much in the way of shine, just like on the tires.

Here you can see it on the top portion of the trim that isn't too faded. The Tyromania does darken it a little bit, but not a ton. Some may like this, and some may not. It reminded me of UTTG, but with even less shine/sheen.

Here you can start to see the difference as we move down the the faded part of the trim.

And he is only the faded trim. It darkens it quite a bit, and makes it look a lot better. Again there isn't much shine, but it darkens it nicely.

Sorry for the short review, but this is the only trim I have had access to for this test. Hopefully it helps people figure out if this product is for them. Thanks for looking, and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Wow, that's a crazy difference. You should let it sit for a day and put some UTTG or ETS on it and see what happens...:xyxthumbs:

Holy cow, that really darkened the trim! I have a feeling it won't last very long, though.

I don't get to see the car THAT often, but I might try next time she comes by.

Yeah, I would have to agree. But only time will tell.
I'll have to add this to my next order

Thank You for the review Dave.
Because of the product applied pictures (tires) and your thread,I placed my order of Tyromania this evening.

Yeah, I would have to agree. But only time will tell.

we have tested Tyromania on trim here in the UK and it will do about 2-3 months, so at least as good as standard silicone dressings. it can get a bit dusty and dirty over time though as the carnauba is a relatively rough coating and a sacrificial layer, but no worse than sticky silicone coatings. this contamination can be cleaned easily enough with a good car shampoo. 8)

Good to know! Thanks for the info! :props:

Nice reviews. I may order a pot of this. I applied a shiny dressing yesterday and my car looks cheap to me today. Shiny doesn't fit my daily driver.
