9 days ago I posted this on another thread and thought I would update the outcome:
Today I received my new GG6 polisher and to my surprise they sent me the HD model with the upgraded 25' power cord, mine was the standard 10' cord. They also sent me the GG DVD, I thought that was a very nice gesture.
So of course I couldn't just leave it in the box and wait until the next time I need to use it to find out if it was stronger than my old one. Well I wasn't ready to put it to any paint so I figured my countertop was smooth enough for a test. I put on my 5" BP and an old 5.5" pad, wet it down for some lube and put the GG6 on 6 and turned it on. I could NOT stop it from turning, put almost all my weight on it and it kept spinning, not that fast but it kept going. I turned it down to 5 and could just barely get it to stop. I remember before on 5-6 with 105 or 205 it would stop without near that much pressure. Now I know that might not be a fair test but it sure does feel a lot more powerful to me than my old one.
I want to send a big THANK YOU to Penny for helping me with this return and to Griot's Garage for standing behind their product and even upgrading it under warranty! This was one of the easiest and most professional warranty claims I have been involved with!
I sent an email to AG customer service on Sunday because I don't think my GG6 has the power it's supposed to, asking what I could do about it. Penny emailed me back yesterday with a question which I answered and then she replied this morning she was going to contact Griot's. At 5:47pm today I received the following email:
Hi Dave
We have heard back from Griots. They will be sending out a replacement unit for you. They will email us tracking information once it is available that we will pass on to you. They will be issuing a UPS call tag for the defective unit in the next 48 hours. Please just have the defective unit packed and ready for UPS to pick up. You can just leave it by the front door if you are not going to be home.
We thank you for choosing AutoGeek. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Best Regards
Penny

I think that was handled very quickly, I have never had a return handled that fast, not even at Wal-Mart.
