Of course things change, but he used to be open on Saturday until noon. I believe that he was closed Saturdays in July and August (probably because he was sitting there by himself all morning while everyone else was at the beach).

As I said things change and I don't think I've been there in 5 years or so.

Duh, I just checked his website, looks like he's not open on Saturdays anymore. Maybe he'll come in on a Sat. if we promise to buy thousands of dollars worth of supplies. Honestly, that time in 2004 when he hosted that Meguiar's detail day, he sold a lot of machines, etc., but we'll never be able to get the turnout or the bucks for what we're talking about.

Yea, I know. He is a stand up guy, and quite funny I might add. I mean I am down for what ever everyone leans towards, but I mean a parking lot sounds like it would work just fine for me. I am looking to BS with all of you and hang out. Of course a shop would be nice, but before we know it winter will be here with no plans set in STONE.
 
Yeah I found a thread where Meguiar's went to Pal's and had a class. I called him to only find out that they didn't do it anymore. :(

I think last time I talked to the kid, he said we can use the parking lot. I have a 10x10 canopy and I know a few other people may have one also.

"The kid"? You kids kill me, what are you, 23?? So we can use the parking lot at the warehouse...but does that mean we will have water/power/bathroom? Because if we don't we might as well be at the mall.
 
I'll ask him again today. What are you guys comfortable chipping in for a parking lot with water/electric and bathroom?

I think that's backwards, find out what he wants...then we will have to get enough people to be comfortable with the coin. Maybe we can get a sponsor to help us out with the cost, AG or DD. Wait, here's an idea, I think I got this from Mike Phillips in one of those "I live in an apt. nowhere to detail" threads...how about we detail the "kid's" car, or his father's, or both, in exchange for letting us use the place?

We can all chip in a little as part of the demo's, the newbs do most of the work, the "pros" finish it up if necessary. Kid is happy he got his car detailed for free by a Lexus detailer, he gets to hang out to make sure his place doesn't get trashed, we get to detail party, sounds win-win, no?

EDIT: Oops, we just have to worry about that liability thing if someone polishes the kid's car down to the primer...does one of you have insurance?

That sounds like an excellent plan!! Gary, ask the "kid" if his father and himself would be interested. Also, 23.....man I am 23.....possible might be offended by that haha.
 
It's all relative, big! I literally have car products that are older than you are.
 
I'm only 25 but I call everyone kid, because its a lot easier.

Well I texted him today and he said that we can use the parking lot. I told him how does 10 a head sounds, and he was fine with it. He does custom work on cars, lights, mods, etc... so if anyone is interested you can let him know.
 
So, does using the parking lot include access to water, electric, and bathroom? If so we are golden!
 
I mention it to him and I'm assume it is fine, because he didn't say no to it lol.

I can bring a canopy, 50 ft hose and power washer. I'll call him tomorrow and see when we can set a date, how does Sunday sound guys?
 
THIS Sunday?? Sounds like a little bit short notice. Did you have a thread with some pictures of you working at this place?
 
Not this Sunday but maybe sometimes this or next month? Nope I never been there but I'm guessing we can only use the parking lot. I'll call him tomorrow to find out more info.
 
I'm totally confused. I thought this was a place you had worked at before, I thought you had a customer who had a car stored in a warehouse somewhere. What kind of place is this?

Yeah, a Sunday later in the month would be great, my friend Jr. has something tentatively set up for this Sunday so she likely wouldn't be able to come.
 
Well originally he said I can work in the warehouse, but we had a hard time figuring it what was a fair price for me using it. So we haven't talked since.

But i recently texted him asking if we can use the parking lot for a meet, and he said it was fine. I'm assume we can use his water/power/bathroom. Maybe we can throw a little bit more money so there wouldn't be any problems and we can both be happy. Going to need a head count soon.

If anyone wants to join just add your name to the list. Will try to set something up within a month, on a Sunday.
