Well guys, I had a little accident some time ago and the result was this damage from the pictures (click on it for full size view)...
I really don't want to paint the entire bumper.... I just want to lessen the visual effect.... what can I do in this situation ?

What the heck did you go through? A barbed wire fence?!

I saw this video and considered getting this since Acura's paint is really soft and I get alot of rock chips. For you though, I don't know if I would recommend it. Unless you want to take the time out to do it. But from the looks of it, you should probably go ahead and get your insurance to pay to get your bumper repainted.

well if you compound all around there you could probably remove some scuff marks but theres nothing you can do besides paint those deep scratches all the way down to the plastic.

Well it was a concrete street lamp post in my blind spot while parking... the thing is it's placed almost in the gutter.
Very interesting... I'm looking for something like this actually... is there other options ?

I do have Megs UC/UP but I'm still waiting for my GG 6" ROP to arrive.
I was thinking about wet sanding then polishing... but I also want something to "fill" in the holes....

If you just want to fill in with color, Dr. Colorchip is the way to go. However, with that kind of deep damage, you'll always see where the spots were. I recommend a respray. Buffing won't smooth that out.
Your other option is to try to do it yourself. Remove the bumper cover, sand it down. Several spray cans of primer, matched paint, and clear and you'll have it looking quite close. You'll have to wet sand the primer coats and color coats, but it will be good enough.

You can try some touch-ip paint however it'll look like you used touch-up paint afterwards but it will lesson the severity at a quick glance. Refinishing is your only real option whether you do the work or someone else...

Contact DR Color chip and see if their kit will bond to plastic ( I would think so but worth a call) as that would at least make it all red again and be a huge improvement. Ok just went there for you and Surface Types - Use On Plastic or Rusted Surfaces - Dr. ColorChip: Automotive Paint Chip Repair Systems you can buy this from AutoGeek and get a great kit and make huge improvements.

Cool! Thank you for the tip and link! :dblthumb2:
If I can't find anything like that here in Brazil, I'll try Dr. ColorChip

I'm really not that experienced... I pretty much would mess up everything if I tried to paint myself... I don't know... painting looks like a mystery to me but so polishing was before I start reading topics over here.....

The thing is.... in my opinion it's better not to repaint it because when I try to sell this car, at least the potential buyer will know that it was just a minor stuff that happened on that bumper... unless I could get a really good paint work and to tell you the truth it's really hard to find it over here...

I just ordered some Dr Color like product here in Brazil, it's made by a paint store... and the good thing is that they have the color of my car in their list, so it should come to a perfect color match.... I'll let you guys know the results in 10-15days as I'll be out from town...

Well... I just did it....
As you guys can see there wasn't really a color match.... i'll try to contact the paint seller but I pretty much doubt they will replace it as they state in the instruction that it's possible to happen...

I guess it was better before, wasn't it ? :nomore:
