Extractor vs Tornador

I've got two Tornadors, and two extractors. So obviously...I need both, ha. But, if I had to choose only one tool...I would absolutely go with the extractor.

The extractor will allow you to do a great job on your carpets. There's not really any alternative IMO to an extractor. I know some people use a steamer and swear by them...but, I also have a steamer, and it doesn't pull out stains like the extractor.

The Tornador...I could live without. I basically only use the Tornador as a dressing tool. I clean all the vinyl by hand, and a magic sponge if need be. Then, grab my Tornador and blast everything. It's great for all those tight spaces and crevices. Really makes perfection look easy.

That being said...you can accomplish anything the Tornador does with a spray bottle, air compressor, and an air gun. I call it "kickin it old school". When my guys are using both Tornadors, and I need to dress..."ahhhh screw it, I'll kick it old school." Comes out just as good. I still got it! :dblthumb2:

P.S. I highly recommend the Mytee Lite II. I have the Mytee Lite II, and the Aztec Hot Rod. I heavily regret not just buying another Mytee Lite II. The Hot Rod is WEEEEEAK! The psi difference between the two is mind blowing. Amazingly enough, they're very close in price.

Do you ever feel that the Mytee Lite II is not enough and wish you had bought the HP100? I have a VX5000 that I actually bought for cleaning tile floors in my house and do use in some situations for detailing, but am getting ready to by an extractor and am trying to decide if the Mytee Lite II is enough machine or if I should invest the $ in the bigger HP100. I only do the auto detailing part time so I'm not going to be using the extractor every day.

Absolutely not. If your only talking part time...the hp100 would be a waste for you IMO. Theres not much of a difference between the two aside from the tank sizes. Psi is close if not more on the Lite II. Heat temp is close too. The Lite II is just more compact...which is good in your case.

Thank you for the tip! I went ahead and ordered two extra jars with lids. One for hyper dressing and another for OPC.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll go with the Lite II and put the money I save to better use elsewhere.

For you guys that DO have the tornador, what size compressor tank are you using to run it?

I run an 8 gallon tank but my compressor is gas powered and puts out 12 CFM at 100 PSI.

As long as your compressor puts out 6 CFM at 90 PSI you should be in good shape.

This is at least how I understand it.

I was running it with a 5.4 @ 90 I think it was, but it just seemed to turn on and stay on, might have a leak or something. I guess I went with the JUST good enough approach, probably take it back today and upgrade.

Have you considered a mytee m5 plus,I see you only detail pt maybe you could clean carpets too pt! Just a thought!
