This vehicle belongs to a co-worker and her husband. It was booked for a one step correction followed by OG on the paint, glass and chrome. It was quite dirty to start with a collection of bugs on the front.

Wheels/Wells/Tires:

The chrome wheels on this truck are gorgeous. To start to cut the grime, I applied Carbrite wheel acid at 1:1 and power washed it off. That was followed by Zep Citrus and a brush.
The tires were cleaned with Zep Purple.
The wells were cleaned with Zep Citrus.

The wheels were eventually sealed with OG.
The tires were dressed with Opti Bond (neat).
The wells (front) were dressed with Adams while the rears were done with Megs HD (3:1) which was then wiped down. I am now out of Adams and will use the HD from now on.

Bug Removal:

I sprayed Zep Citrus on the front and let it dwell and then cleaned the area with my Pinnacle bug sponge in my DG 901 mix.

Foam/Wash:

The truck was foamed with DG 901 with Zep Citrus to ensure a clean surface. The truck was rinsed and then washed with DG 901 by hand. That was followed by being blown off with my Master Blaster.

Here's the truck after 2.25 hrs of washing time:

Chrome Treatment:

The chrome really jumps against the dark blue so I wanted to make it look pristine. All the chrome was polished by hand with M205, including the running boards. It was then sealed with OG. The trim for the mirrors was also sealed with OG.

Paint Correction/Protection:

The paint was polished via my now-defunct UDM DA at 6 with a yellow B & S pad and M205. This brought the gloss up a notch and helped the metallic too. The panels were then cleaned one last time with ONR prior to the application of OG. I once again used the block and mf system to apply it with great results.
Opti Guard was applied to all the exterior glass, chrome and paint and some select trim pieces. The paint was topped with ReLoad prior to delivery to give a smoother feel to it.

Exterior Trim:

Once again UTTG to the rescue. Boy did it ever make the trim jump against the chrome and dark blue paint. The truck had a canvas bed cover which I was not sure whether UTTG would work on or not. I sent Corey a text and he assured me it would. He was right!!

All in all, 10 hours of work. Thanks for looking!

Nice transformation Richy. I'm a sucker for GMC...and only in dark blue. Man that thing looks nice. Nice work bud.

I really love the look of that truck. You made it look like GMC would want it to look. Sorry to hear about the almighty UDM dying on you.

Yeah buddy! That really is a good looking truck now you did your magic on it.

Great work as always Richy. Nice looking truck(I mean the in the after pics BTW) :props:

Looks like it would have taken much longer then that. Turned out amazing! You really do the the Zep . . .

Thanks and I'm hopeful it can be fixed so I have a backup.

Thanks a bunch and yes, Zep rocks!

Awesome work on that big truck. You are great at the improving the truck by working on the "details".

I also use the Citrus Zep and love it.

To me, the chrome and the trim were what made it jump! I am so glad I was told about Zep. I am loathe to pay shipping for an APC.

Great job as always Richy! 10 hours? Not a chance for this guy  (would have been at least 20, I move too slow)

That truck looks awesome Richy! You're right, the chrome really sets everything off.

Two questions if you don't mind:
- That's the yellow cutting pad, right? Must be some of that hard GM paint I've been fighting!
- Did you do any other prep before OG, or just an ONR wipedown?

Yes, it is. That is my most-used and most beloved pad of any that I own. I just ordered a few more.

Thanks very much! No, after wiping down the panel after using the 205 and the yellow B & S pad, I just wiped the panel down with ONR and had at it. I made sure it was completely dry of course. I used a mf towel to do the ONR wipedown rather than the ONR foam sponge I have. I did not use a lot of product. It was almost like doing a QD wipedown.

Thanks bud!

I just felt like using my UDM, I don't know if I would have been even faster using my Dyna?? I should have used it on one panel to see how much faster I would have been. Oh well, I was having fun: smoking a cigar and had some great tunes going!

For a CUTTING pad, the B&S yellow finishes really good, IME!!!!

Richy, did you use a 5" or 6" yellow pad with the UDM? Just wondering.
