I bought some at walmart if I recall correctly. I don't remember the name but I will check when I get home and post back here tonight.

Corey, have you ever seen what happens with iron x when its a few months after it was used? For instance, I had used it for a few particles on my car a few months ago. They were back a few months later. The paint was sealed with Menzerna Power Lock and then 2 coats of collinite 845. So it almost seems like the particles came back equally bad as they were from the beginning. I'm not sure why to be honest. Any thoughts?

Hi Trent, I haven't seen that. I mean certainly new iron hits the car and has to be removed again but after removing iron it can't re-emerge unless you have a chip or whole all the way through the paint and primer and it's coming from the panel itself. Otherwise either it's new contamination or was never removed.

Sounds like you got the right stuff for the job! Thanks, Corey!

LOl, you got it bud :props:

is there any difference between the Iron X paste and the Iron X with the sprayer?

is there any difference between the Iron X paste and the Iron X with the sprayer?

Paste is a thicker consistency for longer dwell times or surgical applications (complex wheel designs, etc). The spray form is more liquid and is easier to apply to large sections of a vehicle at once. Some people also prefer to put the paste on a wash mitt and wipe it onto the paint rather than use the spray.

Thanks Nicholas! Thanks for the valid and complete info buddy!

All I could maybe add is the reason some use the paste that way on paint is to save on product while other use the spray to save on labor.

The most important points are as you already stated so eloquently about vertical surfaces and stubborn spots.

Quick comment on Iron X (spray).....the smell is pretty bad; consider a respirator.

I just ordered my first bottle of Iron X - lemon scent after everyone's recommendations :) Anyway, they mention not to spray it on brake parts. I understand that you don't want to soak your brakes in this stuff, but some is going to get on the calipers and the rotors (and may some drips on to the pads). Do you think a little overspray is OK or should the brakes be covered?

here you go:

Its ok to get a little bit on there because it will happen. One thing is to just make sure you don't get any on any bare metal like wheel weights. Some are covered and come aren't. If you do get any on a weight that is uncoated then you will need to scrub it off.

The NEW Lemon Scent still smells terrible.

Typing this, I can "feel" the smell in the back of my throat.

Whoever described the original scent as "Cherry" is crazy

Unfortunately, this stuff works incredible well for me. I can definitely tell the difference when I clay.
