vette got keyed

dude that really sucks...i don't know why people would key a car its just stupid. sure Ive had stupid thoughts of "stupid person cant park should key his car" then i think of how much work it is to fix and that snaps me out of it!...really sucks especially to a nice car like a vette. did you park horribly or something? highly doubt you did...i just don't understand people who have to mess with someone's car..you think the place you were at have cameras? could file a police report or at least find out who it was...at least you have good insurance that will cover it but as you know will never be the same......good luck with bringing it back to the great condition it should be in...

Really sorry to hear about the stupidity you and your wife had to endure. Misery loves company. Someone who envied you for your nice car had to try to make you as unhappy as they obviously are. Don't let them succeed.

Oh man.... that's really sad. Sorry to hear about that!

Really sucks they got the Lexan top too. Just a heads-up, GM no longer makes replacement tops for a C5 so the only way it can be repaired is for the dealer to send it out to a specialty company (I was told there are guys just outside Chicago who are the only ones rebuilding them) so the original lexan panel can be removed from the frame and a new one glued on.

Good luck!

Long time no talk, Tom.

Sorry to hear about this bro. You take any pics? Are the scratches wet sandable?

Garry, they are deep ones. The insurance company is going to get it repaired.

I foiund a place that has the tops so, I will order it and get the money from the insurance company to replace.

Sorry to hear this Tom. I detailed a neighbor new TL and couple days later someone pushed a cart into his car. Now he drives around with a big dent on his door.

These people don't care how much $$$ and time it will take to fix it. Hope they do a good job repairing the damages.

Hey Tom,

Sorry for the damage....:awman:

We've all been there and some of us several times. I would risk an assault and battery charge if I ever caught the SOB doing it and his fingers would be broken, take that to the bank....

That sucks man. Be thankful it's covered by insurance. People just don't have any respect for property these days. Like some of the others have said, I'm sure I'd have gone ballistic too.

I wanted to post Vincent's quote from Pulp Fiction, but that would get me banned pretty quickly, so just pretend I posted that scene.

My wife and I went to a very nice restrant in Titisville, FL and soom jack-ass keyed the vette while we ate dinner.

I am so pissed, what is it with people that do that kind of thing.

Called the insurance company and it is covered.

They got the right door and right rear quarter panel. The top and the rear hatch.

I did have a few scraches on the rear hatch but they added more to it. The top is a removeable top and is made of lexan so that will have to be replaced.

My policey cover a rental car so no time lost at work.

What a mess, the wife was pissed also. I just don't understand how people can do that to someones pride and joy.

End of rant,

Tom
That sucks. Sorry to hear about it. The fear of that happening is why I rarely drive my Shelby to public places like that. It should not be an issue, but, there are jerks out there.

I know from past experiences that kind of thing just makes you sick. The real sad part of it all is more than likely it's adults not kids doing the dirty deed. I'll help you anyway I can.

Linda

Sorry to hear this, when I had a 2005 C6 the wife and I stopped at Wally World to pickup some meds and the 10 minuntes we were in the store someone poured a coke on the hood of the car it was on the secuirty cam but we couldn't make out the tag.

I hate hearing about these things. Like other poster said before me, I think it comes down to simple jealousy. It does not matter that you worked hard to get where you are, some people will just be envious of you.

Wow.... that's just unreal. I don't understand people.

truly ashame when someone cannot respect another persons property.

Same thing happened to my parents brand new chevy Suburban in 1996, at the airport with less than 1000 miles or less on it with the dealer plates still attached. Someone keyed the whole side of it.
Sorry,
That sucks.
