I was just moving a M/B GL 550 out of the garage to inspect the paint. Somehow, the pull string from my attic stairs got caught in the rear window. When I proceeded forwards, I heard these HORENDOUS POP!!!! I stopped immediately, got out to inspect and found nothing. After another 30 minutes, I notice a string hanging from the corner of the window. I was like, "Hey, that wasn't there before, and it sure looks familiar" I looked at my attic stairs and notice the string is only abot 6" long now... LOL. What had happened was as the car was moving forward, it was pulling the stairs down. When the string snapped, the attic door slammed to

That rear window would've been $1,000, so I feel I'm the luckiest man alive right now :)

Drive your butt straight to a church right now. It doesn't matter which one...just find one!

WOW Flash!!You are lucky!:props:

I was parked in a customers garage once(the only space there was available )

When I back out of the garage I heard a crash, the garage door rope had cuaght in my front door and garage door slammed down on my van roof!

Luckily I had chrome roof racks ! I was thanking my lucky stars too!

Wow...that could have been horrible, ha.

One time I bent a customers door in half. But, it was an old Carolla with 300,000 miles, ha. I just picked up another one at the junk yard, buffed it out, and slapped it on. It was the best looking door on the car, lol. :dblthumb2:

Go buy a lottery ticket.

Maybe. Or maybe I should think about how Unlucky I am to have this happen in the first place :dunno:

I like physics.

Best I can figure is Chinese rope won't withstand German glass

I ripped one of those wood stops you see at garages one time driving a doctors Volvo wagon. Stupid thing dropped to fast and got caught on the ski rack. Fortunately just like this time, there was no damage. Well, not to the Volvo anyways :coolgleam:

:iagree: I could not agree more!!

:cruisin:

Sounds like something that would only happen to you Flash

This morning I've already dispatched a dozen fire trucks to a campfire, and then walked through a pile of vomit.....and that was all before 7:00am

Wonder what else the day has to offer :)

I've torn the doors off of two cars in my career. When I have more time I'll tell you the stories. Both are kinda funny looking back now :)

Congrats bro! Could have been a mess!

Thanks! It sure could have, but it didn't :)

Whew. Close call. Glad it turned out ok.

Thanks! It was a very odd ordeal thats for sure :)

Lucky it wasn't a glass crash, Flash! (lol)

When I was car-pooling, we would get in the sliding door of the van in the garage, and the rope for the disconnect got caught in the door as it shut. Needless to say, the garage door came down and got backed into, but not a lot of damage to the door or the van. The rope however got a lot shorter right after.

How do you bend a door in half?
Glad it was a beater!

I dunno man, I think that guy who one the 250mil jackpot a couple weeks ago is luckier than you. Think about it, wouldent you rather be that guy right now? :)

I worked at a Volvo repair shop once. I put a car on the lift, hit the button to raise it but only one side was locked in. I stop the lift JUST in time to keep the car from dropping. Nobody ever found out and i paid better attention from then on, what scary experience.
