Sorry, I don't have photos...yet.

Basically a customer came in with a car they just bought. It's full of old tree sap imprints. Some of the sap is there still, but most of it sat so long it left raised (swollen in appearance) imprints on the finish. Mainly on the hood, roof, and trunk. The vehicle is an 2008 Infinity (don't remember the model). Either way, not an old car by any means.

Just looking to see if anyone has dealt with this specifically...cause I haven't (at least not to this extent).

Since there's so many, I immediately figured I'd be damp sanding the bad panels. There's just too many spots to attack one at a time. I have everything I need to damp sand with my PC using Unigrit 1500 and 3000 grit discs.

I'm going to test a few spots out by hand first, then bring my approach to the whole panel using the PC. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you already know what to do

:Picture:

I do. But, I wouldn't be having the customers best interest if I didn't at least ask. I've done plenty of spot repairs on imprints like these...but, never had to remedy whole entire panels before.

I will take some pics, and post them up when the vehicle is in the shop. It's scheduled for monday at the moment.

I doubt it'll buff out, so your options are limited

I know it won't buff out for sure. The sap sat for WAAAAAY too long. They just ignored it for years.

This is where having insurance is VERY helpful, haha.:pc7424:
