My kids, and I'm sure there are others. Mine are 29 and 27, and they are freaking PIGS.
I had to work on my son's car this weekend, I counted 20 misc. cans of different varities on the passanger floor board alone, and as many fast food wrappers.
Not to mention there was no place in the rear seating area to even think about sitting.
The head liner is hanging down, visors are ripped, dried matter on the door panels and dash. I wish I would have took a pic.

My daughter is the same way, her's even pollutes the trunk. Growing up their rooms were the same way, nasty cluttered, no matter how we tried.

I thought about buying a rat from the pet store and throwing it in his car, but was afraid of animal cruelty charges being filed.

What the Hell is wrong with them?

Rant complete

I've often wondered how folks can trash what is generally their 1st or 2nd (behind housing) investment. Particularly when it is of the $40K+ variety. They treat them like motorized rubbish bins.

Be glad you didn't find empty liquor bottles and joints in the ashtray

Some ppl only see a car as a mode of transportation

I know of a college student who cleaned show off her car with a shovel and was "surprised" that the car was now scratched. Good thing she is not my kide!

:iagree:

Some people simply don't care about cars and as a result buy the cheapest thing to get them by. In this scenario I can sort of understand where they're coming from, even if I don't agree. It's the people who spend a mortgage payment a month on a vehicle and then trash it that I don't understand. A "luxury" vehicle loses its luxury once it looks like a homeless person live in it, so what's the point?

Tell them you won't work on their cars again until they are cleaned up and stand firm.

A few weeks ago I took my 2nd daughters car to the repair shop. It was so filty inside that I took it to the local car wash to use there vacuums. Vacuuming out her car made two vacuums to plug up. Now thats dirty.

When you take a dirty car to repair shop do you really think they do their best? When I take my car to a dealer for oil change I make sure it is spotless and they treat it as such.

LOL, maybe you should blow it out next time. I vacuum the front of my daughters car and leave the back alone. I think there is a back seat back there, but not sure.

I thought I was the only one. Now I feel better that it's not only me. (Misery loves company) LOL! What can you do? I close the doors to their rooms. Otherwise, they appear normal; they just seem happy to live like bums in a trashbin. I have a standing order of no eating whatsoever in my car or in their rooms. I make a tour through their rooms periodically to make sure there's no contraband or food. I feel like a jailer, but for me there's no other way. I think it'll be this way until they have to work for and care for their own. Mine are 19 and 18 years old.

They do change when they get in their 30's. and on their own. Will they ever be to your expectations? not likely. But that's life.

My youngest(5) took a blue ball point pen to the back of the leather seat in our van. I just found out today. I'm still trying to get it out without ruining the leather.

A couple months ago my wife and I switched vehicles. I watched my kids drop stuff as they got in. I didn't say anything. I just stood there and watched with a tear in my eye. Like the Indian in those old PSA's about littering.

You should mention to them that cops don't like dirty cars and it will give them a reason to search the vehicle.

FYI
Leather Master Car Interior Ink Away works well for removing ink

We used to shakedown the kids rooms just to get our dishes back.

2 years ago we had to pickup the daughter from the PD station.
She was hammered, anyway I dumped out a 5th of baileys, 5th of malibu, and a half gallon of crown, all stashed in the junk in her trunk. LOL that sounds bad.
I wanted to keep the crown, but it was more enjoyable to watch her cry over it.:props:
