Opti-Coat Carbon Fiber Exhaust tips?

Hey guys, I actually decided against this exhaust system. I was a bit concerned it would be aggressive enough, and also, while the carbon fiber tips look GREAT, they're 4.5" and when on the car, they just look too big! I went with the Borla ATAK exhaust system. Beautiful 4" SS tips and the volume/tone is awesome, with minimal drone! :dblthumb2:

Excellent choice! Can't beat the sound of Borlas on a 'vette!
 
Borlas are the way to go! I have the borla stingers on my C5 with the borla x pipe and gutted cats, its got the perfect deep tone and volume mix. drone on the highway for a long trip gets to me though. Mine is a 6 speed but a friend has an auto with the same setup and the drone is half as bad.

Check out at about the 6:20 mark of the video. It shows the sound differences between the borla exhausts. I went with the last one, the ATAK(Acoustically Tuned Applied Kinetics).

I'm glad you made another choice....I personally felt there were too many "pieces" to contend with, with the other system....especially the "clamped-on-tips".

Borla systems are very nice...
But I still went with the B&B Bullet...I guess I like scaring the kids and old ladies in my neighborhood. :D


Have fun with your new exhaust...I know I enjoy mine!!

Wish I could :( But...
Usually not during the winter months...unless there are some days like we've had recently here in Ohio.

Had Borla on the Red one...the Wife said they were very nice sounding, but thought: "Something louder"...I agreed...Hence the B&B Bullet. Plus it 'fills-in" the lower bumper extension quite nicely for me.


BTW....Mark...Does your Z06 have the factory NPP, or a "Mild to Wild" option? Either one will sound fantastic with the Borla!
SS is such an ease-of-care "metal".

Did you have the Borla Stingers?

Yes, it does have the factory NPP, but I pulled the fuse(keeps the flaps open at all times). I NEVER closed the flaps when I had the fuse in. The Borla takes away the NPP open/close option, but I never used it anyway. WAY too quiet! I'm sure I won't want to close the flaps with the new Borla ATAK. It a brand new system that uses some very cool technology. :)

I think the only aftermarket system that retains the NPP flaps is the B&B Fusion cat back.

Yes, I had the 'Stinger' exhaust...I don't believe Borla had the ATAK available yet.

This exhaust look awesome, I hope you give us a review and how to of opti coat when you put it on. Im wanting to buy some opti coat for my dd and debating to do it to the Camaro when it comes. Great looking exhaust hopefully see you on the road
